I have D606 on rear and Pirelli MT-21 on front, rides awesome on street and dirt. Actually, I ride like 70% street and 30% dirt, no problems.

Mixing it up! I think that 606 is close to an opposite ratio of the terrain you ride but it gives you a nice aggressive look! Love the videos!

I am new to riding and have a klr and need new tires soon. Another klr rider told me to do the same 606f and mt21r and hr ran the TAT with thid no problems. i ride 70/30 too. i'm curious about street riding. How is the vibration and wet traction on pavement? Can I expect 4-5k out of these?

Great tires, I started riding only 2 weeks ago and these tires are amazing! Surely better for off road but still decent on road

Nice evaluation of this tire. More dual sport tire tests would be great, Michelin Anakee Wild, Kenda big block, Pirelli MT21 etc. You guys have covered the Dunlop D606 pretty well in other videos.

Good review guys, I have about 2500 miles on my rear, the 1190 Adv R chews them up. I figure I will get another 500-600 miles, all my time has been 20% tar, and 80% florida sand. I second the comment on the Tractionator adventure tire.
@taylor21057 жыл бұрын
BBL Adventure I'm having similar problems with the 1290. My wheels are smaller, but it chews through 90/10 tires and they're sure not cheap. I'm going with a full on touring tire next on the rear. The front can stay mildly off road worthy. I've accepted that it's not really a very good off road machine. My drz 400 takes that abuse.

Great review guys! Always love seeing a new video in my feed. I'm jealous of all the awesome adventure rides you guys go on. The TKC 80 is a decent tire but my 990 chews it right up. How about a review of the MotoZ Tractionator tires (Desert and Adventure)? I have the MotoZ Adventure on my 990 and love it so far. Can't wait for the next video. See y'all on the trails.

Very good video! It may have been interesting to compare the weights of the bikes, and how that affected tire wear & grip. (and perhaps the tread depth of the tire when new)

And what size of rear tire do u use on DRZ? Wanna try 140/80 r18, is it fits? Or it’s a bad idea? Thanks)
@rmatvmc2 жыл бұрын
You can enter your bike make and model on the product page and it will tell you what size tires will fit your DRZ. It should be a 120/80-19. www.rockymountainatvmc.com/tires-and-wheels/continental-twinduro-tkc80-dual-sport-rear-motorcycle-tire-p

What tire size are you running on the DRZ? I'm interested in putting some TCK80's on my DRZ400s but you guys don't carry a 80/100-21 for the front tire. But you do carry a 90/90-21 Will that size fit?

I just put on a TKC80 on my DRZ last week, and yes the 90/90-21 fits perfectly.

“If you’re spending most of your time on the street, you want a street type tire”. I disagree. The frequency you get off the beaten path doesn’t change the type of terrain it is. I may want to commute to work a few times a week but still want a tire that performs on the weekend. This is why I run the Golden Tyre 216 fatty front. It handles the road and trail exceptionally well.. the obvious downfall is what slab will do to an aggressive front knobby like that so mileages aren’t the best but I bet the best performance everywhere I go. The rear I switch between the Motoz hybrids and the D606.. all around the same price point. One day.. Someone will make the ultimate dual sport tire that sacrifices nothing. Until then.. I’ll concentrate on performance vs longevity and value 👍

Thank you for taking the time to do this review. But... Why guess at the tread wear? It would have taken so little planning to include a depth gage or even a 6" ruler in your gear. Disappointing, and makes me question the validity of your other conclusions. You guys are all better riders than I am, thats not in question, but when I look at a review I expect the reviewer to remove as many unknowns as possible.

They do everything poorly compared to what’s available today, a la trailmax mission in my opinion. Tkcs are particularly vague on the highway at speed (sketch) and immediately cake up in mud (sketch). Better off on even a pizza cutter like a tourance on a heavy bike as counterintuitive as that sounds. Tkcs are an obsolete tire, imo.
@miro_s Жыл бұрын
how can you say good performance in mud when the video shows all 3 of you skidding left and right for just a little bit of wet 😂😂😂

TKC80 is a GARBAGE tire. I tried a set on my 690 enduro to run the WBCDR hoping to make the whole trip on them (500 miles or so). Grip was scary, especially around corners it slids long before other tires I have run. Also half way through the trip the rear tire was gone! Whole knobs were missing. Had to hit a shop and replace it. Dunlop 606 last just as well in mostly dirt but have way better grip. I am still on the hunt for a good enduro tire that will last. Maybe it doesn't exist...?
@rmatvmc7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comments. No doubt the challenge of dual sport riding is finding a balance of wear and traction in all conditions. While I had better luck than you did with the TKC80 tires, I must admit I do prefer the Dunlop 606. I don't know if I get any more miles out of them (less on the front actually), but I do like how well they work off-road, and that is where I try to spend most my time - Justin
