Damn, you started right away from the Peak. A little bit of history of Contingency Contracts: The first one we got to play was CC Beta, a first ever live test of this gamemode. Then we had 12 different CC seasons, from 1 "Pyrite" to 12 "Basepoint". 12 season was supposed to be a natural "end point" of this gamemode, so a lot of effort went into it. Then devs decided to rework the gamemode and launch it again, cause it is still one of the most popular end game content in Arknights. And so, the infamous POO Operation came out... Then they just pressed a "rewind" button and started counter again as if nothing happened. And so we got CC#1 again (something about phoenix), which also turned out to be a pain in the ass. And now, currently, we have CC#2, which is, by all means, is supposedly easy (or less BS) in comparison to previous two. Returning back to the Basepoint - everything about it has it's own meaning and history. From the best clears of previous seasons, showed in the trailer - and to the map, the song, the enemies, the vibes and of course to the name itself. The song itself is basically a story of how our main opponent in very first CC (Beta), which is Red Hateful Avenger, aka mister Red, gets defeated, falls into disgrace, gets stronger in desire for vengeance and now- *He comes to take what belongs to him* And boy, he took this shit seriously and personally To *You* And so in actual stage, he returns as a Hateful Avenger, but a Gigachad-On-Cracks version of it, and starts chopping through your defense line as if it made of paper, literally one-tapping your sturdiest Defenders. That was a great fight, with low Risk (score) levels being relatively accessible, but top Risk clear being incredibly hard. The BGM of an actual stage was a crystallized FIRE as well, so it worth checking up separately too. So, yeah. CC is cool (though sometimes I feel I got too old for it, xD) Good luck in your attempts, if you gonna try the current one to crack. Cheers.

Ah thanks for the history lesson! And answers some questions cause I was like, I'm pretty sure there's a CC2 even though there's another CC2 now lol

1:45 Yeah, not only were they showing past CC's, they were showing player footage from the first, highest-risk clears. CC12 was the final CC to use the old format, so it was regarded as a celebratory CC of sorts. All that footage you saw there was from players who were the first to upload videos of their most difficult clear possible. The stuff they did is actually insanely technical and sometimes frame-perfect. Really cool to watch.

for whatever reason CC is not archived content. there really should be an option to revisit old CC content so you could experience it again. the current CC setup apparently got canned since they haven't had a new CC on CN and they used to do a CC every 3 months. I personally think CC should be like Integrated strategies, you got the older modes and the active mode, and just add a new active mode every 3 months.

Man, reaction to Operation blade without animated video is a bit of a waste, but that's peak OST combo fr. Those ones and Operation Pine Soot are my absolute favorites among CC lobby themes. Oh, honorable mention: Mashup Operation Fake Idol. This shit is 🔥💯

The images you see in basepoint is all of globals max clear runs from back in the day for every cc. CN did the same, JP, ect. Every version has every servers examples.

I've had a of fun with this cc so far. For the things I did not use a guide for I got a max risk clear of the first rotational stage (dorothy carried), while for the main stage I cleared all the challenges and missions on my own, but in the end I had to use a guide to get the high risk medal and trim. I haven't tried the new rotational stage yet.
