According to the Guidelines by the American Academy of pediatrics in context with abounding of Screen time
-Till 18 months of age child should not expose to Screen time
Screen time includes like TV, iPhone, iPad, Mobile and other electronic gadgets with screen
Excluding: Video chat with family and relatives like Grandparents
After 18 months children can be exposed to Screen time but with caregivers and family because
Early age is the developmental age of cognition, speech, language and behaviour.
Screen time disrupt all these qualities.
Screen time is the one-way transmission with no way to communicate or socialize which causes a lack of the development of speech and language.
No abstract thinking due to screen time
Mother/caregivers communicate with the child and recite story or tales, Due to storytelling child think visual content of the story in that way brain is thinking because of this abstract thinking, cognition improves.
Screen time aggravates Temper tantrums more as children cannot replicate things in the real world. It keeps children restricted.
After 2 years of age, screen time provided for 1 hrs but in presence of the caregiver. It can’t be between a child and a screen. Caregivers have to give all sensory input with sound, touch, and visualization. Children should not be totally into the screen world. Caregivers should Interpret the screen world to make it easy and create connectivity between children and them.

Nobody told me screen causes autism. It's all so frustrating. We exposed him to screens at 13 months.

When the child is ready for school, I highly recommend that parents and children play a word game together. I suggest an anagram type game. Mad Libs are fun too. These games come in workbooks, little flipbooks, or in apps for a phone or tablet. When I was a kid (back in the early aughts) and the cable was out, I always had puzzle books or Mad Libs in my backpack for school that my autism teacher gave me to do for homework or for fun. After I'd finish the Mad Libs book, he would have me read them to him, for a grade in English class.

Hello ma'am my son is 3.9 years but he can't speak and sometimes mom dad baba speaks like this And I made him play games of animals and and abcd and when I ask him where is the lion Tiger's, he picks him up and gives him a hand and even if you ask me where is the orange, where is the train, then he figures it out and tells .he's looking at me when I call him by name .and when he is hungry, he puts his finger in his mouth and points towards the then kitchen.

I have autism and I had addiction to electronics as long as I can remember when I was 6 I was addicted to the tv and video games at 10 to the phone 19 now still addicted to the phone I don’t do anything else it’s miserable how do I stop?? I also live in isolation since I was 10 😭

Doctor, now my baby’s age is 3 and he is showing all the symptoms of autism like not pointing, not responding name but eye to eye contact is good. We have done the big mistake giving him watching TV since he was 7 month till 2.8 years from morning to evening. After we knew the danger we stopped The tv since last four month. He passed all milestones and no issue found in up to 2 years until we notice some behaviours . He just started repeating words & very clam child. Pls help us is this because of excessive screen time or he may have asd.

After Stopping screentime its been 3 month.i can see so many changes,eye contact 80% ok,name response 100%,addressing good enough,socialization 80% which was 0. She says words with us,can say some sentence words from own. Problem is she is not as her age of child in maturity & understanding talking language bt improved from past. Cant continue therapy because of her crying

Thanks Mam. Screen has really affected my child when he was young. We discovered it late when he was three and half years. Madam is there a way to reverse this. I have removed TV screen from my house 6 months ago but up to date, he has not fully recovered. No speech and doesn't take instructions. Kindly advise. God bless you.
