It's true that corn builds soil matter, nice to have some cush there. Scientists need to start breeding some new corn that'll grow to only 6ft & still put 2 cobs out & be easier to turn back to soil.

Corn is a really good soil builder

I like it as the residue breaks down easy. Stop using chemicals and start using subsoil microbes that control nematodes and produce Humus , not compost on the soil surface.

I will produce a full crop corn for you in the first season and continuously without any chemical inputs (fertilizer) except for herbicides in the first few seasons. If you stop stressing your crop with fertilizer, killing natural microbes thsts suppose to control that nematodes, add subsoil microbes with all that incorporated organic matter the crops brix levels are up above 12 and pests and diseases are not significant. Yields are on par and the bottom line is huge at the end of the day.

So your answer for continuous corn is to double down on chemical inputs and pesticides, plus specially genetically modified seeds. Huge profits for NK and Monsanto. Unfortunately huge environmental concerns for the rest of those living on the planet.
