Although I welcome the idea of an "insane" level contra, the flow and levels here weren't well-designed. It's just Super (C)heap when you don't even know if you can stand/walk on a surface and if you have to do weird crouch walks to get anywhere while being shot at without a realistic way out. Perhaps editing Contra 3 or another entry in the series could yield more interesting level design?

Something the creator of the ROM likely couldn't manipulate without causing the ROM to break uncontrollably, as the level ending flags are hard coded. While the idea of 2 JJ's is fun, it can't work within the programming, even with a shared health bar, because the game will flag the level complete and move you on when one goes down. This "phenominon" happens in several old NES hacks, almost always in the same situation where they added a duplicate boss.

That reminds me one time that I was playing the last enemy of the last stage in Batman Returns on the Genesis. The enemy was the penguin over a yellow duck. I was with the last point of life and I killed the penguin. I was so excited because I had overcame the final stage and I went to see the final screen. The penguin was died over the duck, the duck was over the water, the music in silence and I "yes, yes, yes". The duck came to me and touch me and I lose my last point of life. I could't see the final stage. How could the fucking duck touched me and killed me if the penguin was already died? I don't know. I haven't played that fucking game from that time, it was a trauma for me...
