The Japanese version of this game is so much easier (and fair, and fun!) because it gives you actual health. Love this one, probably my favorite in the franchise! I go through all 5 endings, too (see timestamps)!

I've noticed this too one on Ninja Gaiden III the Famicom version is much easier/fun because of that. I get the point of hard arcade games to eat at quarters but was there ever a reason behind the NA versions being harder? Artificially lengthening the game for rentals?

@@thecoldesthands6072 I'm not sure about this particular game, but yes, sometimes they made games harder because of rentals. Video game rentals are illegal in Japan.
