I love the old school Contra games, I remember as a kid I couldnt believe how much action they seemed to pack on the screen (esp Contra 3 Alien Wars). I have actually gone back to replay a bunch of them to prepare for this new one coming out.

While the demo doesn’t have online co op which sucks. Though I have heard other KZbinrs saying the final release of the game will feature online co op. Which I hope is the case because this game needs it.

Contra 4 is incredible. It's the game I'm currently playing. Super hard but worth the learning curve.

The background spinning reminds me of the old, classic Fleischer Cartoons but yeah the demo was a gang of fun. Looking forward to the full release.

The demo was a complete blast, went through it more then once. I think my only complaints is bullet visibility (esp on the boss), and the fact the game is going to cost $40. Which is a steep asking price for a game like this. Esp when compared to Shredders revenge and SoR 4. That being said at least the game was fun and really felt like a Contra game!

Really glad they took a page from Contra Hard Corps and Hard Corps uprising in term of character playstyle diversity. I really want Hard Corps uprising remastered port though. Sayuri was too much fun.

I have been playing some of the Contra games to prepare for title. I have to say Uprising is a ton of fun, however if it would be nice if it got ported to modern systems and the PC. Without the BC support on Xbox I would not have an easy way to play it. I wish rebirth got ported as well. To many great games get locked down to old hardware it sucks.

@@flexin85 Yeah, Rebirth was one of those titles that you needed to emulated it. There is no other alternative. Uprising was on its way to be that way as well. I REALLY want to have that game on PC. My girl Sayuri turned Contra into a Strider game.

@@dannyvestal299 it’s a digital game so you should find it in all the store fronts. Limited run games handled the physical release. Should be able to find it on their website if they still have it available

This is being made by WayForward. They made Contra 4 on the DS. It's the best Contra. They recently made spidersaurs which is their original IP that is a Contra clone

Favorite, Alien Wars. I'll play it any day of the week. I do have a soft spot for the orignal and arcade, and Super C, had them as a kid. But I would be remiss if I didn't mention the masterpiece that is Contra 4. It was arcade machine Contra on a DS, and it was fair.

Aliens Wars is the one as a kid I would every day, could not get enough of that game! I really hope they do another Contra collection and include a lot of the newer game on in it. I would love to see uprising/ shattered soldier and Contra 4 come back on modern platforms.

Contra 4: Alien Wars originated from SNES, and I am playing again as we speak. They should have given this one an arcade cabinet using at least x68000, but SNES gave it justice!!!!!

Hard Corps is the hardest game in the series hands down. I didn't finish it until I bought the collection on Switch and had the benefit of being able to pause and rewind

I rely heavily on the slide mechanic in order to finish the game. BTW I found playing as Brownie makes the game a ittle easier. Either way Congrats on finally beating the game! Contra is def not for the faint of heart.

Way forward did a damn good job with contra four on the DS, thats on which should get at least a port of that version for the switch or something.

some things you missed was the fact there are dashes, air dashes being taken from Hardcorps Uprising, a Contra game done by Arc System Works(same developers that made the Guilty Gear and Blazblue series) back in the PS3/360 days, also this isn't Wayforward's first rodeo with contra, they're the ones who made Contra 4 on the DS, so yeah unlike Rogue Corps, this one's in good hands.

Yes the dashing looks like it will be really fun, esp the air dash. I know Contra Hard Corps had a ground dash that added quite a bit to the game. Wayforward is a pretty awesome Dev, they have made some really high quality games.

While relatively high resolution, Shattered Solder on the PS2 seems to get the Contra vibe better. The artistic choices are not just in the graphics but how the camera would move for 2D game play in a 3D level. Also that game as one bad ass sound track.

They said it is a reimaging of the orginal game. However the are adding in new levels that take elements from the newer game. For example in the trailer they show a lover with the hover bikes, which where not in the orginal game.

Can`t wait for this! Finally going back to its roots. We had hardcore uprising back on ps3 which was awesome,but nothing till now. Its in good hands with wayforward, they did contra 4 on ds and it was great. This is guaranteed to be good. Getting the physical and digital, just cus ik im not going to want to wait for the physical lol....and i love contra!! And 4 player online coop?!! This will be the game that will finally pull me away from streets of rage 4

Yeah this does look amazing! I am happy to see Contra return to form and from the gameplay shown it really does seem to pay homage to the orginal games. 4 player co op is going to be a complete blast and complete chaos! BTW Streets of Rage 4 was incredible, you have great taste in games!

They`ve tried bringing contra to the 3d realm many times, but it never worked well, aside from Contra 2049 on pc years ago which wasnt an official game but was best ive seen 3d wise. But i just feel these games need to stay in the form they were originally intended to be in. Konami has found that out the hard way with Rogue Corps lol. Hopefully this does really well and more classics are redone. I want sunset riders remastered!

@@bbgothviolator8953 Yeah I think a 3D contra could work, however it might lose what makes it special. Since there are so many 3D shooters these days. I think Contra just shines as one of the best 2D run and gun games. I hope konami contiues these type of games, with the turtles collection and now this I wonder what is next. I hope we get rerelease of the rebirth games! BTW thank you for sub! I greatly appreciate it, hopefully we can build the channel into a place where gamers can just discuss great games. I can not promise I will never have a bad or incorrect take, but I will also just give my honest opinion.

It's an incredible NES game and I hope I can buy this one when it comes out, and with the release of the Metal Gear collection, and together with this remaster, with them going back to the classics, it gives me hope for a new Clastlevania game, maybe with a remaster like this like this game made by WayFoward, imagine a remaster of the first 3 NES games, a Castlevania 1 with...I can't think of anything, this game is already perfect, but imagine a prettier Castlevania 1, a Simon's Quest with a decent translation and easier to know what to do, and a Dracular's Curse with more interaction scenes between the characters and co-op for 4 people, it would be a dream

I wish they would bring back retro 2d CastleVanias. Even though the first game has been redone several times (Super CastleVania 4, CastleVania Chronicles) I can never get enough of it! Simon is my favorite Belmont so always happy to see him back. I know there are fan remakes of Simon's Quest but it would be nice to get an offical remake of the game. It really did have some fresh ideas when it first came out, I think is the was first game in the series to do the MertroVania style of gameplay.

I am really excited for the game and are going to play it over and over again. I do hope the konami code works as well, I like to co op games with the wife sometimes. Having those codes always helps making the co op experience more laid back and fun

It's the only cartridge I am gonna buy at launch price. Normally I wait a few months for a sale at Walmart or Amazon 😅😅😅. My son has a Switch so I am gonna enjoy it with him. I bought Streets of Rage 4 and we beat it together on normal difficulty.

Contra is that game! Contra got more interesting and thrilling. This is what I want to see. a kick butt 2D contra game with 3D graphics plays like the Awesome classic contra but with new elements. 4 player coop up, they just make the game even more great!!! I have been waiting for a new great Contra game. Still play the classic Contra titles but open minded to new titles. As long it has the great 2D gameplay.

My favorite Contra game is Hard Corps. Cautiously optimistic about this one, but we’ll see. Konami’s history with this franchise is spotty at best, and looks can be deceiving.

I have played played some of the new ones, like uprising. However not enough to really comment on them. So yeah I am pretty far behind, though I have gone back to try and catch up before this new one comes out. I find it better to just be honest in my content instead of trying to lie about my experiences lol. After all people can spot a fake pretty quickly

I get that pixel art really does give that great retro look for these type of games. For exmaple TMNT Shredders Revenge looked incredible. That being said at least the game looks amazing, and hopefully delivers what fans want

Honestly, Konami is worthless, but considering that it's a remake of Contra, they already have a good base to follow, just don't do anything absurd and they'll be fine, and even though it's from Konami, it's being developed by Wayfoward, and Wayfoward is a good company, it never let us down (remembering Half Genie Hero), at Konami's level, but they are good, so I believe that this game will be very good

I love Rogue corp. if you didn’t read the in-game instructions and accept the grind and you missed out. True it’s pvp was garbage and if you want to play online with friends you’ll need to be Ethered in to your router but if you set your buttons right this game gave constant movement and constant firing
