No truer words spoken in getting your friends to invest in VR. My buddy just picked up a Q3 (after years of me asking him) and I no longer have to play alone in a sea of kids while on mute. Just us 2 against everyone, sucks when we get busy with work and life but when we game its great. I bought him Contractors Showdown and its by far his favorite game, he even plays it alone when Im not on. Both contractors is amazing. Good vid!

Thanks! Yeah a friend of mine wants one really bad and he’ll probably get one eventually. Some people have no issue finding friends to play online with but when you’re 38 like me and can really only have so much social battery it’s tough 😂 I appreciate the kind words!

I’m not exactly confident in CombatWaffle putting all their eggs in multiple baskets instead of focusing on one game. Throwing shit against the wall to see what sticks works when you’re trying it within one game ie what contractors did but multiple games all buggy and not complete is not a good start for me. We will see I guess. I’m just skeptical.

Dude VR shooters are so much fun, welcome to the club! BR did die down before exfil and was dying down before it even announced exfil. I’m really not sure why as the game I think is great, I think maybe people got bored with no updates as they worked on exfil

I accidentally popped into a reborn game once and it filled right away, I have tons of fun in the BR still. Showdown though is very solid, I hope it can have more of a comeback one day.

what I miss is a proper conquest or rush maps which are also populated. So far we have better luck with Pavlov getting into a push server to get kind of a battlefield experience with tanks and stuff

Skyrim VR modded is one of my favorite VR experiences in my 6 years as a VR gamer. But you really have to mod it for it to shine - but when it does there is nothing quite like it. Fallout 4 VR modded is also good, but far more buggy and demands a lot from computer (but using VATS in VR never gets old). Exfilzone is great :) I am terrible at it, but keep returning for more punishment. Happy gaming.

Quest 3 for $500, you get the most advance gaming console pack with everything. Althought the controllers are trash with joystick drift, I still don't believe it cost that low. You also need to buy external battery, upgraded strap, some decent games to get full enjoyment because VRChat is the worse VR game ever

You absolutely have to by the bobo headstrap S3 pro (the one with the fan because the batteries are strong enough!) If you having issues the first hours with ajusting it - it's normal. Keep in mind that you can "fold" the headset down on the front - did not know that. And this finaly fixed all my issues. I bought a sec. Batterie and now i can quickswap and play endless lol

Last night the few hours I had while standing and not having to be seated made it more enjoyable that’s for sure, it’s nice to be able to sit or stand but standing definitely better than normal controller smooth turning

On the stand alone contractors game: they also have cod zombie round based mods. Nacht see untoten, kino, nuketown zombies, the giant, verrukt, shino numa, diner, bus depot and some modded maps. It’s awesome with friends

I bought the independence pack for tabor, and it has disappointed me ever since. Just the fact that this game is in alpha and has a leaning mechanic makes it 10 times better than in tabor, where people can shoot your shadow and get ya.

The people complaining about the devs because of the battle royale mode are literal children and a few ignorant people. The player population immediately plummeted shortly after the battle royale game was released. The devs put a lot of work into the Season 1 updates as well as added a faster paced battle royale mode. The season 1 update brought players back, temporarily, but it still had the same massive retention problems. It doesn't make sense for the devs to keep wasting development resources and money working on a mode that doesn't retain players. The ExfilZone mode is doing a significantly better job of retaining players, so the devs are going all in on this new mode. I don't blame them for any of their actions, and its not like they took down the battle royale servers, people can still play what they paid for.

oh yeah I've used it before, once I get a battery pack that everyone else has it'll be easier to not always have to be plugged in, but in the meantime, smooth turning and sitting in a chair has done me just fine so far :)

you should try pavlov vr too, it got some insane stuff running in the evenings like massive push or massive snd, also some crazy mods like pavlov kart lmao base contractors mods outside of tf2 imo are not that impressive, and pavlov also got some great star wars maps and weapons although it's more rare to find people playing that than ww2 or modern it also got csgo and even battlefield 2 maps which are surreal to play

I’ve heard of ITR and ITR2 but them being single player experiences is what makes me not really interested unfortunately! I will try Pavlov eventually. I have been taking recommendations and enjoying what I’ve seen on some so far, someone suggested Breachers to me and now I’ve been loving it and plan to make a video on that soon as well. Pavlov is on my radar for sure 🫡🫡

you are right when you said the game died before exfil cameout because the playerbase on steam before exfilzone was 10-30 players now it's 200-600 and that's just steam it's probably few hundred to a thousand players on quest standalone (battleroyal as cool as it is wasn't enough for the game to survive so they made this to try and make a comeback great idea imo)

VR/AR in general even at its infancy stage, show absolutely how fun and intuitive interaction can be that is not possible in flatscreen. Gameplay is just massive leap as well as the technology itself.

Completely depends on what you want out of a multiplayer shooter, contractors is a multiplayer shooter at its core, think call of duty with different modes and mods. Showdown is their battle royale mode, and their Exfilzone in one game. I bought both during the holidays cause they were on sale.

I have been playing contractors exfil zone on my quest 3! Exfil is an amazing extraction shooter contender in the space. I also play tabor and onward some breachers. I never was a fan of stand alone contractors or the br contractors to Arcady. I also hate battle royal modes. I prefer a tactical environment more squad based realistic mil sims. I wasn’t expecting exfil zone to be a hardcore mil sim and it is! I never had a pc prior always Xbox player. I have had vr for over a year now I only play VR now! I am also familiar with tarkov! My favorite shooter prior to VR Rainbow Six Siege

For base Contractors, I know that you download them when you try to load into a modded server, but as far as loading them on your own, I have not looked into or figured out how to do it yet, I've been super preoccupied with Exfilzone and other games that people have recommended to me! I'm sure theres a way

That’s VERY odd…What region are you playing? I have never waited longer than 5 minutes for a scav raid, and always less than 2 minutes for a contractor raid on US East. In your game updated? How’s your ping? Something is definitely wrong there because I promise you it isn’t dead whatsoever 🤔

Great vid! Only thing I disagree with is the "comeback" thing, vr is growing every single day. The most popular game being vrchat hit a concurrent user base of 136k players online at one time during new years! That is a huge deal!

I can see what you mean, for sure! I’m happy to see vr growing more and more, I was mostly talking about mainstream gaming circles doesn’t really talk much about it, you can play vr chat now without vr for example. (I don’t personally care for vr chat but it’s probably just an age thing as it doesn’t appeal to me). You don’t see any major influencers in the gaming space playing vr and there’s way less advertisement for it unless you start actively looking into it and it locks into your algorithms. Again though I’m happy it’s growing and after finally having it I can see a lot of the future in this thing and that’s just great 👍
