Excellent technique, sensibility and love for the music and the Art of presentation. Thank you for this gift. But the music is too fast. I cannot fathom or believe that people back in 1600's and later enjoyed our lightning-speeds of playing.

MarcusHK1 Its obviously for keyboard, just play it you'll understand. open score writing for fugues was common at the time for fugues, even though they were for keyboard

As in the score the 4 voices are written separately, I believe we don't really know, nor for what instrument it was intended, or even if it was meant for any instrument at all, rather than just a means for studying the fugue.

Why do they move their heads so much and make ridiculous facial expressions? It is so distracting. Nice energy, though.

Agree. Good playing . Bach does not need these theatrics.

It's a video. As in something you watch. As well as listen to. Acting skills to go with playing skills.

In the score of the Art of the fugue it's not really specified, as the 4 voices are written separately. For that matter it's not even indicated for what instrument it is supposed to be played.

It was actually written for 4 voices. In harpsichords that would equal two harpsichords intended to play this.

It seems to me that it is sometimes played on one keyboard. If so how does the performer manage do do that?

Why does the guy keep giving the woman angry looks? It's very distracting and unnecessary.

A mon humble avis, ça manque un peu de nuances, à l'image de David Fray pianiste français qui se refuse d'interpréter Bach comme une mécanique. C'est dommage, parce que leur technique est irréprochable. Question de goût comme dit David.

Sounds beautiful but I hate the fake, jerky movement of the Viet Cong girl. Why do some pianists feel they need to act unnaturally?
