If you want to run more boost than your stock waste-gate actuator spring can handle or you want to reduce dreaded boost sag, you need a boost controller! Mechanical controllers are very easy to make yourself, often from stuff you may already have around the garage. I'll show you how to make one but more importantly how to dial it in SAFELY.
Stuff to find/get (usually from the plumbing or air tools aisle of a hardware store):
1/4" T fitting
1/4" NPT hose barb fittings (need 2) - amzn.to/34u6Ypi (set is enough for two controllers)
1/4" NPT adapter fitting (other side doesn't matter since we'll cut it off)
1/4" ball bearing - amzn.to/3mjWbUW (I couldn't find this so I just ordered it -- you can break open an old caster from a chair or wheel from a skateboard)
Small spring -- I think this was from a large ink pen, lol
M10x1.5x50mm bolt (or similar, just needs to fit in the T fitting) - hardware store
M10x1.5 nut (used as a jam nut, match the bolt you choose)
1/4" rubber hose (a foot or two depending on where you mount the controller) amzn.to/3mjvgso (this is for a LOT but it's cheap -- I replaced all my vacuum hose on the car)
Tools:
Some sort tap -- I used an M10 tap but 5/16ths or 3/8 will work too. amzn.to/3osS2A3 (I have this one...not expensive and covers a tons of sizes, super useful for fixing rusty threads or cross threads. There are also cheaper ones for like $20.)
