Control Your Emotions or Stay Single! - Warning to MEN
Not all emotions are meant to be expressed, especially when they may feel extreme or out of place. Controlling your emotions is crucial, not only for ourselves but for the relationships we inevitably engage in.
People won’t always behave the way we expect, but that shouldn’t lead us to react inappropriately or harmfully.
This message speaks to all humans, but especially to men. Far too often, acts of domestic violence and emotional abuse are inflicted upon women for no reason other than uncontrolled emotions, leaving women unsafe around us.
I strongly condemn these actions and call out any man who uses his power to oppress or harm women based on mood swings, believing they can get away with it. It’s time to do better!
The case of Rebecca Cheptegei, an Olympian set on fire by her boyfriend, highlights the horrifying outcomes of unchecked emotions. Rebecca Cheptegei, a Ugandan Olympic athlete, was tragically harmed by someone who should have protected her. This tragic event serves as a reminder of the need to control our emotions and the importance of emotional intelligence in our lives.
To the young boys still learning and the parents raising them: Teach your boys to control their emotions and seek help when needed. Our next generation of men should create a safe space for women, built on respect, understanding, and protection.
Let’s hold our fellow men accountable and choose to stand up for women whenever we can.

Gustave, I'm 110% with you on this! A man should never lift his hands to strike a woman he claims to love how much more do her harm. It's a no-no, no matter the provocation. And for me, it's a sign of weakness and immaturity. Been married 36+ and NEVER struck my wife, or even pushed her away from me, not even ONCE! Is it that she's never provoked me, pushed my buttons? No! Boy, she has, particularly in the early days of our union. Real men take CONTROL of their emotions. Allowing your emotions run riot could buy you very dire and unintended consequences. My African brothers, striking a woman (under any guise) is a sign of WEAKNESS. It is IMMATURITY! STOP IT!!!
