Controlled firebreaks to protect the lions

It’s that time of the year again when we are at major risk of wild fire getting into the sanctuary. Doing our controlled firebreaks to PREVENT disaster is extremely expensive & we please need your help 🙏🏼

We must burn around the perimeter of the entire farm & also the inside & outside perimeters of every lion enclosure as a preventative measure to KEEP THE LIONS IN OUR CARE SAFE FROM 🔥
We do controlled block burns in order to make it difficult for a potential wildfire to spread into our lion camps & take hold. It is very intense work, time consuming, dangerous & expensive to do but is the only way we can defend the lions during the dry winters.
Not only does this keep the lions protected it also regenerates the grass for our wild game population to eat and kills off ticks & parasites.
The GG lion team especially ⭐️ ELIAS ⭐️ is just amazing at leading this fire prevention task- thank you for your tireless hard work & dedication to the lions safety guys 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

I’m amazed the Lions will sit there and watch, I would have thought they’d have the instinct to get away.

They are curious!...also very used to this procedure so know they are safe :)
