VR is so immersive for me that the first time I tried it I forgot I was playing a game and actually thought I was going to die. An enemy got really close to me and I actually screamed out loud lol. I'm seriously considering getting a headset of my own. It's next level immersive.

It’s a slippery slope. Started out with the original Vive for like $1k, then came the 980ti followed by the 1080ti, then the Vive Pro with its wireless adapter. Now I’m sitting with the Index kit which was like $1200 if memory serves. Totally worth it though.

Hey just a tip- spend some time working on your reloads. I have honestly spent hours on hours just reloading different guns on the range. Feels like you get the sleight of hand perk, and really helps in those stressful situations. I got into onward because of you, and really really enjoy it. I even met some people, like Identity Crisis, who are participating in tournaments too.

I love FPS in VR. It’s great because real world shooting skill translates to VR, not so sure about VR to real world though lol. From my days in the commercial flight simulation business, VR has a lot of stuff that’s known as reductive training. The HMD, the hand controllers, etc. Basically anything you have in training that would differ or be absent IRL. It would be way cheaper to train commercial and military pilots in DCS with a Valve Index as opposed to a 6dof motion pod sim with a larger square footage than my living room, and 6 $50k projectors shining on a giant ass parabolic mirror that costs more than my net worth…anyway, I digress…I think it’s awesome and funny how even just by watching footage of VR gameplay, you can tell who has experience and training with real world guns…

You don't need a lot of space, just enough to spread your arms on your side and in front of you ( you can have your back to a wall and use the stick to turn your camera ). Plus a quest 2 is only 300 bucks, cheaper than a console and imo a much more valuable buy

There is an acclimation period for sure, but the more you play the better it gets, I have never actually gotten sick playing this game although at 1st I would get a little light headed/dizzy, now it feels normal like walking around and playing without a headset. Rest assured it will be different from person to person, but definitely worth giving it a shot...

I wish it looked as good as it does on the quest than it does the vive or the other headsets do. It’s sad because it looks like it has the potential to run it but the graphics are crappy and blocky on quest. I recommend buying anything other than the quest if you want to play Onward. It’s still fun, but doesn’t look as good as this.
