In Canada we have a solution developed by Ministry of Agriculture. There is a piece of wire to put on the apple tree; the moth is attracted by a hormone to get to the wire and not to the apples. It works wonderfully; no insect spray needed.

I am also in Canada and am dealing with this problem. Could you please tell me what the product is called and where I can purchase it? thank you

Thank you, I had not heard of these! Where can you get them?

Good question! The farm owners purchase those "wands" from a farm supply that requires an established account to buy their products online. BUT, there are lots of other suppliers of this type of product. Google this phrase and you'll find lots of them: "codling moth sex pheromones products". Sorry, can't recommend one of them, but they all have similar ingredients.

As everyone else has asked, where do we buy them? I can't find them anywhere.

Best to be safe and put them out ASAP.

I use milk jugs with my homemade vinegar 4 inches in bottom and 1 tablespoons of molasses to a bug its fruit. I have small hole in top of jugs they smell fly into holes and fall into vingear they die, really works good for me, I use all summer for many kinds of bugs.

I’ve googled coddling moth dispenser and get results for traps. That isn’t what you are talking about. Help with a source please?
@heidiroycroft94657 ай бұрын
Ok, after more googling, it appears that these are only effective for ten or more acre orchards. They are very pricey too as they are sold in bulk. That’s what I’ve found so far.

Seriously, why make the video at all if you don’t tell people where to get them?
@rex10858 ай бұрын
I seriously doubt it was knowingly done, he's probably just assuming that since they're available through UCSC that they're available to the general public. I'm going to contact the manufacturer and see if there's a way I can get my hand on some. Will update.

Try getting on google and searching codling moth pheromone lures, I'm sure you'll find something similar available for purchase.
