It will be interesting how they will do when all the seniors leave after this season. They definitely look like they have individuals that will go far like Chase Saldate(2020 MSU commit). But the development of wrestlers in the youth and junior high programs is very important to the future of the program’s success. What is funny is DC was actually wrong here. You can see when the kid in white has the pinning combination he has his hangs locked around kid in blues head. If you don't have an arm in there it is considered a Potentially Dangerous and the opponent is awarded 1 point. That's why the score was 2-1 after they were reset. Kid in white got his 2 for reversal and the kid in blue got 1 for Potentially Dangerous. The PD rule is to prevent holds and pinning combinations that could choke someone out or possibly hurt them.

Also, DC would only be in threat of a lawsuit if he assaults someone. DC's lawyer could easily argue that he was "in fear" and that could sway a judge's view. As long as DC makes an attempt to back off from the situation and cooperates with his attorney, he won't lose any lawsuits regarding assault.

Jfaiola in this case it was. The right call was made after the protest according to the tournament director. This is also a high level tournament with nationally ranked wrestlers and teams. So as you can see the coaches are very passionate about their athletes. Rankings at stake, records at stake, seedlings can be affected, wrestling scholarships might be affected in a +/- way(but maybe not) Just the nature of the tournament was high level and you have a bunch of coaches who obviously demand perfection. It was intense and this was not the only match that was disputed during the tournament. There were a few and the refs handled it right in the end. Thank you for your input.

Bad reffing here.I mean he had defensive exposure and/or a self pin....then the guy in white hooked a Gazoni on the arm so he didn't "control the head to back position" and once you're opponoent is on their back the "headlock" illegal at that point, it'd be like a calling a half illegal....you control the head w/o an arm in that lock all the time! All that said I honestly wouldn[t be upset if they reversed the pin...things happen, but to restart 2-1 is LUDICROUS!! Green had AT LEAST 4 points...more likely 5...heading in the 3rd...And you can CLEARLY see the guy in blue hasn't cleared the arm at 11:17 and the ref called the takedown...seems like he just wanted the match to end...I'm not trying to say the top man wouldn't have scored the TD, on the contrary he PROBABLY would have but that key word iss PROBABLY....it's a shame to call it like this and not the boys wrestle it out....

"oh he dont know he could be killed" stfu, it's a match just like anything else the coach should show some fire for his fighters, he showed passion, and i bet d.c not even once thought about violence.. it's just competetive spirit from both guys. sure it was as much to the line as u can get, but that is totaly fine aslong as u dont cross it, no matter who u are. Non did anything wrong but the refs.

The controversial call is, if the wrestler on top hooked his hands together before the other wrestler was on his back. This always happens in this style of wrestling. The rule is, the bottom opponent must be on their back before your opponent can interlock their hands.

okay after reviewing this over 50 times and reading and reviewing the Folkstyke handbook DC's wrestling did not maintain the arm and head together, which makes the move illegal and potentially dangerous. The referee should have stopped the match awarded 1 point to the Buchanan wrestler. Since that never happened the referee should have kept to his call and not reverse it. Thats why matches like this have to be reviewed by at least 2 or more referees at a time.

@PanopticonMind5 жыл бұрын
Settle down. If the ref did anything wrong here it was not giving the kid 2 back points before the illegal hold. He made the right call on it not being a pin. You can't have a pinning combo headlock without an arm. It's a potentially dangerous and that is why the kid in blue was awarded 1 point.
