Sadly referees can be biased towards teams that they admire or loathe. VAR operatives are not completely innocent of the same kind of bias. Possibly having 2 more linesmen on the sides at which currently are not marshalled, could help. VAR is a good idea but needs to be better policed.

In this VAR era, linesmen sometimes make things worse, as we can see in the video, Bayern vs Real, the linesmen should not have raised their flags and let the chances happen. After that, VAR can check for possible fouls.

@kazuyakurosaki1025 Generally I agree with you, but VAR is monitored by humans and they make mistakes, like in the Bayern v Real game when Bayern's goal was ruled offside, which he wasn't but the referee blew the whistle which stopped the game. There have been a few bad decisions in the Premiership by the VAR operatives which have robbed teams of valuable points. There were also some balls which had gone over the line but were ruled OK by VAR, again either a genuine or deliberate mistake. It is a good discussion topic but there is a real need to action these mistakes, including simulation which is another problem.

@@thepagan5432 I think the "referee" should start to stop blowing his whistle based on the linesman's assumptions, The linesmen continue to work as usual but only as a reminder, not as a reason to stop the match , Only his own opinion as the main referee and the VAR referee has the right to interrupt the match. That would make the linesmen a little useless but who cares if the game could be more controlled

Barcelona got robbed at home in Camp Nou and They show this crap game insted very nice but Barca always gets disrespected from refferees and in la liga especially there and in Champions League too idiotic to think they got robbed Barca, always gets robbed and offsides too one game doesn't change anything, Anelka dived and handball from Pique i agree with but not where the ball hit Abidal that is not handball and reff was correct to let it pass Chelsea would have lost stil no point of crying.

None are handballs, secondly one even less so! You can't look at someones hand by their side and smash it against it purposefully and then shout HANDBALL!!!! Remember it has to be deliberate or the hands in an unnatural position, none of those apply to either
