Something I realized years ago, Les Twins battle because they love it. It’s their passion. In addition, they appear at some of these events because some of the producers and promoters are friends and they know the presence of Les Twins fills seats and puts money in their pockets. It’s the same reason they feature on some of their friends music or videos and dance to their songs. They all know the Les Twins fandom will run up the numbers. I hope they’re smart enough to arrange for compensation and wages for some of these cause they’ve put quite a few of these competitions on the map returning year after year and we’re not even including merchandising and vendor support.

Friends … you maybe mad, sad and disappointed but !!! Instead of that try to understand… but be ready that it will be not short trip. As the gentleman in the video said few times: “I don’t understand” , “I can’t understand” and that’s basicly it … and I am not offensive. Just don’t staer too much, listen more and feel more … Alex looks maybe too simple for you but that’s the key element … becasue to look simple on this level is not simple. He is just another level … it takes time to see that and you are not able to understand it just from watching it. First at all: Try it !! Spend some YEARS with trying it, practising and studying of foundations of hip hop dance. Am not saying try to be same as he is ( becase after all those years you probably still will be not able to catch his level ) but try too be that clean, have that flow, transitions, rythms and variations of basics, that musicality … bro than you maybe understan why this was fair desision. I have said it before and I will say it again. I won't be mad if Les Twins stop doing these battles! They are giving their name to these organizations, giving free master classes for dancers, getting disrespected at times and the dancers are not on their level, period. The foundation that the dance was built off of have to be incorporated. Alex the cage had better foundation. Musicality isn’t just about hitting beats, alex took a certain flow and had many variations within his sets for the particular round. Look at his first round against majid in the battle bad 2021 finals, he took the heel toe and had many variations based on one move there’s more to dance than just animation and body control. That’s why I see Laurent as better than larry because he actually grooves and is more free within his sets. Larry has many cases of throwing signatures out of nowhere and having many resets whilst Laurents remains connected he grooves and flows within the music while showcasing his own freestyle.

@@eleveneleven-ui4fm First of all Kefton actually tied when he battled laurent at fusion concept so you're wrong there. I'm also referencing top tier hip hop dancers, so mijo don't count. Dykens, and meech are nice, but they aint at the top of the food chain. When Majid lost to Larry it was way back in 2010 before he really found his style, it's literally night and day in terms of skill level. When they faced again in 2014 majid commited 1st degree murder against Larry and it wasn't even close. When Ukay battled it was a 2 v 2 with his partner Aldo that sold the whole battle trying to taunt instead of just battling and it cost them the round. Ukay did his thing against larry. When you look at the twins resume, hip hop wise on who they've beaten it's not really that impressive.

The reason buddy didn’t do anything in round one is because he already knew he was going to win and didn’t have the common sense to put on a better show. Y'all...Larry lost here. I been a Les twins fans since like 2011. They are my favorite dancers, but Larry's style right now doesn't do well with the judging criteria. Whether you like his style or not, it makes sense why he's losing rounds. Alex is better than Larry right now.

Depending on the type of tournament (hip hop, popping, krump, all styles, etc), they're going to have different criteria. To clarify, I don't think Alex is better than Larry; Alex's style isn't appealing to me at all tbh. I just think he was better on this day. Larry was sick and looked tired man. 😅💁🏼

It is hip hop, Its just Evolution he created his own style within hip hop which is legendary and thats what everyone especially dancers as teachers say to their students... It's about how the fundamentals of hip hop are incorporated. Having your own style is cool but when you have a dancer that strays away from the traditional form of hip hop that's going up against a guy who's masterful at doing exactly that, in a hip hop battle, it's pretty hard to give him the edge. I'm not saying Les Twins aren't hip hop, but they are so experimental that a dancer like Alex is one of the few that can actually compensate against the Twins' skillset.

First and third round I would give to Larry sure , if you honestly think he was even close to Alex's 2nd and last round your delusional and probably don't actually know much about hiphop. This isn't all styles , its a hiphop competition. , that means flow , ployrythems , iso's , bounce etc not just musicality. Yeah In my opinion Larry should have won third round, but I can see why they made it a tie. Cause on 3rd round Alex flow carrying and was on par with Larry’s set even if Alex did not do anything. Basically Round 1 - Larry Round 2 - Alex Round 3 - Larry/tie Round 4 - Alex As u can see the judges aint really biased, idk about batalla tho. But Nelson and Kefton who are close friends with the twins have been voting for Larry in the first few rounds, they only voted against Larry in the last round because Larry lost that 100%.

Yes, Foolery... Larry won the second round. Dude did better his second time dancing but not enough to win the round. I had to watch again before saying this. I promise I'm being fair. But, Yes SP... It looked like Larry was OVER IT🤭 As you said SP... You would have walked off stage... And, does anyone know who the judges are? I've never known... Kefton, Batalla, and Nelson were the judges. Nelson is a popping judge while batalla and kefton specialize in hip hop. Kefton does popping too though. Lol @ larry winning the 2nd round🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭

I asked, what in the hip-hop haberdashery is happenng at Battle Bizzare and I got my azz chewed. (on another reaction video with a person who shall remain nameless) The hot mess of it all made me upset. Do Les Twins spoil us with dance that looks effortless? Yes they do. It seemed obvious to me that there was bias and I'm glad you reacted to this because for a second I though I was trippin. Now the question is, Who zips ya pants if they on backwards? Fact of the matter is, Alex looked just as if not more effortless and to be fair, that's not even 5% of the whole conversation. I love Les Twins, Les twins got me into dance in the 2010s when they were just on the come up and been watching their stuff since then and appreciating it whole-heartedly. But this battle was fair all throughout. Alex is just masterful at incorporating grooves, patterns of movement that are polyrhythmic, and is honestly perhaps the greatest hip hop dancer I've really ever seen in my lifetime and his approach to musicality is one of the most accurate I've seen. He doesn't just represent the beats in itself, he represents the way they go together all throughout the track and the story he creates is completely in accordance with that and his ability to stay on beat is unrivaled. He won the battle through his mastery of basics, variations, control and constant presence of all fundamental movements of hip hop, and he could be considered, to a degree, a sort of kryptonite to the Les Twins style that strays away from that traditional and fundamental form of hip hop. Now to be clear, it was such a tight battle that any other day, Larry could have compensated with the aspects that make his dance so amazing, but even then I would have my doubts. As far as true hip hop goes, Alex was the winner but it doesn't take away one ounce of how mesmerizing the Les Twins' style is, but that's the thing, Les Twins are so experimental that it's hard to judge when pitted against such a masterful hip hop artist. And I honestly think bias was not a factor. From the crowd to the judges, that tells the whole tale, especially since Kefton is a part of the same crew as Larry and still voted for Alex.

You are entitled to your opinions. I respectfully disagree with some of your points. This is the beauty of having different pov's. Alex always seems flat to me. I believe the twins have/are fighting hard to open the dialog about what hip-hop dance is and how we evaluate it. Groove, flow, transition, foundation... ok AND one day the dance must evolve past those traditions. Creativity, freedom in expression and truly hearing and showcasing the music is Les Twins. Let's have this chat again in the future.

Third round, Alex was back to the base dance and stayed on the floor too long doing nothing. His entire floor work was trash. Nobody dances like Les Twins but at least keep your best foot forward. Any judge that chooses what Alex did against Larry as a win is either biased or blind. He was literally doing a b-boy’s base without the tricks. Larry’s musicality is so intelligent and obvious. You could tell Larry was pissed and done with the competition.

I get that this channel is like a mini Les Twins fan club, which partly is why it's so obvious that pound and many of his viewers are super bias and one sided to Les Twins. Most Les Twins fan boys and fan girls have kind of been conditioned to only think good dancing is only made up of beat kills, big moves, and being super animated. But the reality is that the judges look for more than that. There's so many more pillars to the fundamentals of dance, than the average Les Twins fan is even aware of. Sometimes the judges do unfairly judge Les Twins, but there are also times like these where the judges vote against Les Twins because the other dancer was more rounded. It's ok to prefer a certain style and like the flashier moves and beat kills. But the fans really need educate themselves on dance, before they start assuming there's bad intentions or Les Twins are being played.

I am confused about what you are saying. Are you saying liking Les Twins or enjoying their style or appreciating that their style is appealing to a wider audience has super biased or conditioned their fans to not appreciate elite hip hop? I find the opposite experience. When I ask for information, education, and examples from folks who comment on @Small Pounds' page, my questions are met with sarcastic comebacks or silence or borderline hostility, as if the reactionary bias or conditioning or lack of open mindedness is with the contrary opinion🤔. Is there a pro-les twins /anti-les twins split in the hip hop world such that there is little tolerance for all dancing and dancers including Les Twins? I am new to this world, and truly don't know. I appreciate your comment as I am curious about the tension in responses and dialogues.

Just to name a few things: Flow, groove, technique, the way they interpret the song, storytelling, concepts, etc. But when it comes to some Les Twins fans, they tend to often ignore a lot of these core fundamentals that other dancers express very well, simply because they dont have Les Twin's style or have big beat kill moments in their round. Dance is deeper than beatkills, signature moves, and musicality.

seems like people are just soo caught up in big moves and beat killing that they dont see the rest of what goes into dancing. Alex is a more complete dancer who understands different rhythms and timings as well as having a real foundation. if you want all the bells and whistles they you want larry. if you listen deeper to the music and know hip hop foundation then you see alex won. most people wont see it

Exactly Larry was only being animated, incorporating dime stops and crazy control, with no groove and bounce that’s not dancing in fact it’s not hip hop. The foundation that the dance was built off of have to be incorporated. Alex the cage had better foundation. Musicality isn’t just about hitting beats, alex took a certain flow and had many variations within his sets for the particular round. Look at his first round against majid in the battle bad 2021 finals, he took the heel toe and had many variations based on one move there’s more to dance than just animation and body control. That’s why I see Laurent as better than larry because he actually grooves and is more free within his sets. Larry has many cases of throwing signatures out of nowhere and having many resets whilst Laurents remains connected he grooves and flows within the music while showcasing his own freestyle.

I can tell why Majid won when against Laurent, cuz he really did a great job. But I just can’t understand this one. I know Alex has strong foundation of hip hop dance, but wasn’t it a freestyle battle? I thought we should choose the winner who has better understanding of music, better body control and flexibility, better creative unexpected moves. U can see Larry was totally freestyle in the video cuz he did some mistakes, while Alex just did his move in the same way. And he could even do these moves in every round of music in this battle. Even in the final when Alex against Majid. We are choosing the winner of the battle, not the teacher of the next hip hop dance generation right? No hate to Alex but the battle is really messed up

Polyrhythmic movement is the highest level of body control, flexibility isn't a judging criteria, Alex's musicality is amazing and his representation of music is perhaps one of the most true since it's all based off the patterns of music and when mixed with polyrhythmy he rarely ever jumps off the beat, and honestly to me, as a dancer of 13 years, Alex has had some mad unexpected moves that felt right where they should be and that's what it comes down to imo, no purpose in doing unexpected moves if they don't feel like they should be there and forced, which to me is what i feel happened in the last round from larry, but then again, that's also not a judging criteria. Things judges look for is musicality, foundation, originality, technique, vocabulary(which can mean variations inside pre-existing moves), incorporating and the maintaining a groove throughout your round, story telling and so on.

Hi my SP fam‼️ I want to but I can't watch. Not even under the protection of my fam! I'm reading these comments and it's crazy. I love Alex's style and he is Ole school so he knows the hip hop foundation. As I said b4, 2021 has been his year. But, in my opinion, the Twins have never followed the traditional hip hop foundation which is why they came up with the New Hip Hop genre. They don't have a genre for them. Before the Summer Dance Forever battle (really good/aggressive battle) between Majid and Alex, no one is winning, because they are supposed to be a crowd pleaser. That's my opinion. The Twins, to me, will never be like the rest. @Dawn Clements and @Bobby Molly respectfully, I'm curious to know who is so top tier that they haven't beat.?🤔 Alex and Majid, whom I really like, don't count. The Twins have been making money moves through 2020-2021 so maybe they need to get back in battle mode, although they look ready to me. But, again, whose big in the hip hop world? I'm just curious.

Which goes to show that your knowledge on foundation and the roots of Hip Hop is super small. Groove, Flow, bounce and rythm are the very foundation of Hip Hop Dance, Alex was consistent in all of those, he might not be the most flashy dancer out there but if you pay close attention you'll see how he attacks multiple layers in the beat while maintaining his flow, groove and bounce all throughout. Larry in the other hand is very lacking, in that and people tend to think that dancing is just about crazy moves and beatkilling which for some reason people call musicality nowadays🤦🏾‍♂️

Rubix sees something in Alex. If you look at Rubix the whole battle and the whole event he was going crazy for Alex. People gotta stop enabling this hate for other dancers. Even Laurent saw something in Alex and was voting for him in an event when he was a judge, . Even Buddha stretch one of the first hiphop dancers ever called Alex one of the best bboys in the world. Look, I'm just here sharing my thoughts like a free-spirited dance enthusiast, not everyone's gonna agree, and that's the beauty of diversity, right?
