Galan is a classic leader who does so by his presence and personality. He embodies what he thinks is the right way to act for a professional and if he ever falls short, he looks inward and adjusts his behaviour. He has matured in recent years and has a 'statesman' like aura about him. Lebron is a drama queen. It's absolutely no surprise that Galan wanted a change as he clearly outgrew him emotionally and professionally while Lebron has apparently not grown at all. When something goes wrong, Lebron always looks outward for others to blame and never grows from his mistakes. His words and actions recently are just another expression of this. Great to have some spice in the game!

Look up the incident in the final of the Chile open against Coello and Tapia in 2023. There have also been occasions of him asking for a medical time-out just as opponents were gaining momentum (not saying that’s not allowed, just very convenient). Galan is probably the most complete and best padel player ever and one of the reasons for that is that will do anything needed to win. Lebron isn’t as smart in his communication and promoting his public image the way Galan does, but it would not surprise me for Galan to give someone the cold shoulder if they were getting in his way (either by not being number one anymore or by ruining his image by saying bad things about him like Lebron is doing now). Galan is by no means a dirty or unfair player but putting him on a podium to be the Roger Federer of padel and the ultimate gentleman is really a step to far for me.

@@DeckAndBlackerDJs I have watched that incident a lot and think that most people misread what happened. Regardless, I'm not saying Galan is a perfect moral exemplar, I'm saying he probably wants to be and because of that, tries to learn from his mistakes and improve his behaviour. Lebron obviously does neither.

@@DeckAndBlackerDJsFederer and Galan are actually good comparisons but as a Federer fan for 20 years I actually think his aura is overrated. He has his flaws like everyone else and so has Galan. Federer’s public image is unmatched though and that’s well done. About Chile.. Galan can be criticized and probably rightly so but using that particular incident as an example annoys me.. I would have been annoyed on anyone’s behalf the situation Galan was in. The wrong score was called and Galan played accordingly. At golden point (when the match should be over) he advised the umpire to make it 40-30 to make it as fair as possible. The umpire decided to stay with golden. G/L won the point and hell broke. However.. as an athlete you want to know the conditions. Galan didn’t and was afterwards HEAVILY criticized because he didn’t give away that match point when he didn’t know he was in that situation from the beginning. To me, I probably don’t know an athlete who would have handled it differently in that specific situation and he even tried to make it 40-30 for Coello/Tapia. A very human mistake from the umpire created the situation but the witch-hunt for Galan was extremely unfair. Doesn’t mean he doesn’t deserve criticism but not for that the way he had.

@@TheSportfane totally fair comment and great arguments. I also don't completely agree with all the criticism for Galan, just saying he is a born winner (like all athletes at that level) who will not just give points away if the umpire doesn't make the right decision (who was more at fault than Galan I feel). All I'm saying is that Galan will also have this mentality off the court in relation to his partners so I just feel like it's wrong to blame all this drama on Lebron. We all know a guy like Lebron who acts tough and has a big mouth but when it comes to it, is actually a pretty soft guy with a good heart on the inside but who needs to feel welcome and appreciated or else he goes off the rails sometimes with comments on social media etc... Just because Galan manages his public image better, I feel like Lebron gets all the hate, while the truth is probably somewhere in the middle (like always).

@@DeckAndBlackerDJs That’s a great answer. Unlike Federer and Galan, Lebron has a way of reacting spontaneously in a way that makes him look really bad. It doesn’t make him a bad person but his filter is not nearly as well adjusted. This is just speculation but I wouldn’t be surprised at all if Galan is the “colder” one of the two outside the court towards opponents etc. but he handles himself way better on court and in public. Like Federer. As I said, I just didn’t like that Galan received that much criticism for Chile because to me people didn’t understand the complexity of that situation at all.

Good to see you back pablo. I think chozas and leo they are very dangerous for any couple and if coelio tapia they are not coming prepared we could see an early tournament for the number 1 couple.

I'm honestly more excited about the Castello\Salazar combination as this has potential to be a pair competing at the top if they click and choose to play together permanently. As for Lebron, he needs to get over this else I'm not sure if he will ever get back to his best level.

The last tournament Galan and Lebron played against each other, Galan won and after the match there was no eye contact between the two and no hugs, just a quick hand shake… I knew something is happening between them 😮💨
