This is really an natural evolution not only for the band, but for Jacob also. Converge is really chaotic, but they found a way how to cope with the chaos so they can finally slow down like this. Jacob.. his vocals are really hard to understand, but finally - he is able to share his words more clearly. And i am happy for the fact, that he can trust us like this.

he's just a guy with his own opinions and tastes it shouldn't effect your own taste or opinion. I live in one of the most backwoods bum fuck parts of the country, I've never met another human being irl who listens to or would ever even consider liking Converge... i still like Converge. i even revere the fact that most people would hate Converge if they heard it. It's like if you talk to someone about being depressed and that someone says they know how you feel, like been there done that, and it makes you feel even worse. liking this music is like my own little secret i get to keep to myself, it makes it that much more special. I doubt Fantano freaks out about another band, like he did with Deafheaven's Sunbather, cause it brings out the fake ass fuck boys. am i right or am i huh?

wasn't that the same album review, in which he explained, that as far as he is concerned converge has never done a bad album and in which he ended up rating it with an 8 out of 10? personally i like the song as it's in nice contrast with the rest of the album and understand why it resonates with the listener, but on the other hand this song isn't that far off from what post-metal bands like amenra and cult of luna have been playing a decade before it came out.
