It’s a perfect combination of popularity and obscurity. You kinda get that at shows nowadays. They’re still really fun but not quite the same. Then again I wouldn’t know, I wasn’t alive in the 90s lol.

This reminds me of a Converge show in Amsterdam at a tiny place (Volta) beginning of the 2000s. It fit like 100-150 people. Sold out. Mayhem. The show was with Shikari, Rise and Fall, Instil, Greyline, Dead Rivers, and - last minute addition - Bleeding Through! (Cause they started their Euro tour with Sick Of It All and Walls of Jericho the next day at the Melkweg in Amsterdam - squeezed in, for free, at the last moment)

Rarely. But they do. Look up a video of full of hell playing sometime in 2013. Floor was packed and everyone was moshing or headbanging. Nobody had their phone out and if you did, it would get broken immediately. Shit looks intense. I also saw Revocation at a small ass bar not too long ago and the stage was small as fuck so they might as well have been on the floor. Show was just as crazy as this. People jumping off the stage and shit into people was crazy.

I've been going to shows like this since I was 15 and fractured my wrist at a Burn show as recently as a year and a half ago.
