"Dancing in the night : music & performances"
From Brussels to Nairobi, Marseille, and Cairo, the dancefloor is a protected space that resists the "colonization of the day." It unites individuals through shared musical interests, with some seeing it as a place for ancient rituals like trance, while others experience it as a form of nihilistic abandon. It serves as both a political space and a platform for alternative social expressions, generating fleeting communities and experiences of joy within contemporary struggles.
Today, the need for collective and individual celebration extends to theaters and inspires new forms of performance. Through dance, clubbing, and performances at festivals, artists are reimagining celebration as an act of creation, liberation, and connection.
