They had drama rooms back in late 1990's in some states. Now both parents work so child is left alone from when school is out till someone gets off work.

You two are spot on! I work in an elementary school, Pre-K to 5th. Yes, we’ve had a few kids on suicide watch over the years. We also have a “Wellness Room” where children can deal with their trauma. We know the cause; let’s meet it where it is! Let’s do this!

Short term gains instead of sustainable growth. 1. Get corporate money out of politics. 2. Change the corporate structure so the employees are the shareholders, not profit seeking third parties. With employees involved in the decision making, companies will look for longer term growth.

The stress of their parents AND their teachers. Teachers are treated with ZERO RESPECT, they have no voice, and they are grossly UNDERPAID.

People have lived happily with just enough to get by for thousands of years. The key to happiness is to trust God to supply your needs and to forgive those in the world that you mistakenly think are making you victims.

I'm not disagreeing with you on most of what you say. Beautiful sentiments - to forgive, to trust god, to supply your needs, etc. However, I think what's salient is that while historically, humanity has not been as well off, materially, we are now forced to work much longer hours, in a much more productivity-addicted, corporately strangled and soul-siphoned culture starved of love and god. Perhaps they didn't have iPhones and air conditioning, and they would have had fewer dollars to spend, but they also wouldn't have felt urged to work in soulless cubicle jobs for long, deprived hours. It seems paradoxical, because we have access to all these modern material amenities, but I do believe people are probably emotionally and, in ways, economically worse off in this system. There's more of a spiritual bankruptcy here.

@@briannab4770 I agree that the outer world looks much more bleak now but from the Course in Miracles we learn that the "world is an outside picture of an inward condition." For that reason I do not think that we need to depend on politicians to make our world better for us. They can be part of the inspiration and teaching we need to correct our inner world through forgiveness. We are not victims but beings of great wisdom and ability. This is the vision I would like Marianne and all of our leaders to be inspiring us to attain.

It's interesting how a short clip of America's problems was published without including one solution from the commentators. We're all aware of the problems, guys. What we need is solutions.

You're not going to get that from a 2:39 clip. Watch some of her longer and more detailed videos. Basically the plan is to tax wealthy corporations and individuals as it was done in the past, eliminate Citizens United, raise the minimum wage and reduce the huge difference between high and low wage earners.
