I don't think they have gotten to the point of understanding because if they did, then the "ex" next to Christian would not be apparent. The Quran affirms the bible. 2 examples but there are more.. Quran (5:68) Say to them: 'People of the Book! You have no solid ground to stand on unless you establish the Torah and the Gospel and all that had been revealed to you from your Lord. Quran 10:94 So if you are in doubt, [O Muhammad], about that which We have revealed to you, then ask those who have been reading the Scripture before you. And they ask you (Prophet) about Zul-Qarnain. Say, “I will tell you something about him.” 84. We established him on earth, and gave him all kinds of means. 85. He pursued a certain course. 86. Until, when he reached the setting of the sun, he found it setting in a spring of murky waters, and found a people in its vicinity. We said, “O Zul-Qarnain, you may either inflict a penalty, or else treat them kindly.” in the Quran this verses tells the story of a servant of God named Zul-Qarnain who traveled on earth until he found a place where the sun sets in a murky spring.. it is very clear that this verse is told through the perspective of Zul-Qarnain.. is "he" in this verse is Allah? No, so it's not God who sees the sun setting in murky spring but God said it from a human's point of view, what appeared for Zul-Qarnain.. this is a very weak accusation against Islam and the cheapest one. Christians talked about god in 3 persons, the father, the son and the holy spirit. It is only after the advent of Jesus this idea of god in 3 persons was propounded. So Jesus became the 3rd person when he was born. The 2nd person, the holy spirit, surely must have also existed prior to his arrival. But why we don't hear Moses and other prophets talking about the Holy spirit, the 2nd person of the trinity as being god since surely he would have been in existence prior to the arrival of Jesus. Nowhere in the Torah do we hear of the Holy spirit being God.
