I've been working with kids for a while as a tutor and an instructor and NOW i think i realize why i enjoy being with them so much...first off i can be myself and not worry about what they think and second...they don't act a certain way all the time...they are constantly changing and most of their egos and personas are still developing!

As for change , it becomes harder and harder as you age because when you're a child your mind is like a blank canvas, but as you accumulate knowledge and experience you start to form certain habits and certain patterns of thinking that can be very hard to brake. An example would be human calculators/encyclopedias. They have been trained in their first years to think using certain calculation/mnemonic techniques and it comes natural to use them , while a normal person might struggle with them.

Elliott you already have a channel for the Neuromuscular layer (strengthcamp), and Emotional layer (Elliott Hulse). I suggest you make two more channels, or at least only the physiological since you can consider all four channels as the fourth layer of strength.

personality is almost impossible to change after a certain age,mostly because brains aren't like computers, you can't flip a switch or replace data in a variable. Your previous experiences always remain and the new ones only add on top and it takes a lot of effort or maybe some sort of very strong emotion attached to that experience (usually both) to change even the smallest aspects of your personality, of your mindset, of the way you solve a prob,but as you said slight modifications can be done

Well the interpretation of data is mostly based on previous data, you can train your brain to interpret certain data sets in certain ways and if you do it for enough time and early enough, that can become the most natural way you interpret that type of data. And there are various examples from sports where you can send a very precise shot without using math to calculate it , from chess where GM's think in certain predetermined packets of pieces instead of individual pieces, or blind people ...

This lady can learn better manners by not smiling and laughing the whole time Eliot is speaking because after a while it can come off kind of annoying and rude. I mean laughing and smiling can be a good thing but at the same time it can be disrespect and rude when someone is talking about something in a serious manner. Anyhow Eliot is the man! Keep up the good work Eliot!!

They are a result of the sum of all the knowledge and experiences we have in our life and not pre-determined genetically (the exception being people that are born with some part of their brain that isn't working properly). And yes there are factors that might slightly influence these characteristics like hormones or brain structure, but in humans , the information stored in our brain has a far greater influence. Everyone has the potential to be a genius ... or a moron.

I find the non-job thing really good. But I feel myself 'trapped' in the system because I grew up by steps like, you go to school, make friends, go out, then go to college etc en find yourself a job and work till 65 and then retire.. Like that's how alot of people in my country see their life. How has this been for you Elliott? and how did you 'escape' this life cycle that is created for you by society?

It probably has to do with her seeing someone who has her point of view as well. It's rare to find people who share this path in life. It might be more common with newer generations because of the internet. Even now it's hard to find people who share these points of views and follow it, just imagine how they feel finding each other. Im willing to bet they both felt like outsiders as kids, and maybe even now.

"essentially stays the same". Is it significantly different? There are exceptions, because the difference is based on a mean. Those deficiencies are associated with work ethic and motivation, nothing more. (the presence of apples are highly correlated with oranges in the produce section) Deficiencies still allow a person to change. If one increased his neurotransmitters he now has less of a deficiency.
@heyitshorse
@heyitshorse 11 жыл бұрын
Pre-disposition, a tendency towards an outcome seems a more accurate explanation. Pre-determination is too absolute. Death could be pre-determined by genes, but is heavily affected by the environment. Genes are a sequence of DNA. You always hear about DNA alterations. If there are ways to screw up sequences, there are ways to change.

If according to this paper, neurotransmitters is positively correlated to work ethic and motivation, then fluctuations of those molecules fluctuate those behaviors. Thus humans "change". Whether or not we have direct control over it or if it is molecular change, we still change. Be more specific about "it's all bullshit btw you cant really change who you are". I don't know whether you are using "you" calloqually (to describe a number of people) or mean it as the individual who cannot change.

And you ask what the point is. The point is that you say IQ (well IQ is pretty irrelevant, you can learn to do those tests better and better without actually increasing any type of intelligence), motivation, work ethic are all set in stone by genetics, and although genetics can provide you a better tool than the average, it ultimately depends on how you use it, especially when it comes to the complex abstract notions that humans have to deal with like language, math , science, art etc..

not necessarily superior. fear and respect take precedence, when you fear someone and laugh at their jokes its not a "give in" to superiority but rather your scared of the outcome otherwise. respect works the same way but its more of a way to accept what the person is saying. its more selfless.
