What Scorsese doesn't understand is that in order to change for Christ, especially in today's society, is to repent. Catholicism doesn't teach or preach about the meaning of repentance.

what Scorsese talks about is something BEYOND repentance; you remain within the bounds of human thinking. what is beyond repentance is God's MERCY. and whether you repent or not, God continues to love you and to be merciful to you, which is the craziest thing that the GOSPELS proclaim. so, cut the crap about Catholicism not teaching the meaning of repentance. for the Church to actually have a SACRAMENT dedicated to penance and contrition and repentance and reconciliation is just something I guess that your little mind cannot wrap itself around!!!
