This video brings me back to when I first started making jewerly. This was one of my first designs. The nostalgia of straightening the wire after cutting it, instead of doing it while it’s still on the spool, not having xuron needle nose pliers for wrapping the ends, and instead a wider pair of pliers that doesn’t work as well, Using the nylon pliers for corrections so often which doesn’t really happen anymore. Thank you. I wonder if you still do tutorials. I bet you’ve improved just like me. 😂

I was wondering ( not being a wire wrap 101 but not a whole lot more in that dept ) how does that self made hook/catch/closing work when 1. you have to pay attention to how the hook is positioned as you go to hook the opposite ring by making sure the hook is going to catch by going down into loop right were if you are trying to close with hook faceing up and try that really doesn't work ?? 2. that self made hook is to soft to hold the braclet on in a day of normal activities ? not sure I am right just running it by you! ps I would and have buy a hook which would have the strength I think is what would really stay in place ? :)
@SoftFlexCompany Жыл бұрын
I think the best thing to do is to experiment on your own and see how it works on your design. This bracelet comes out fairly stiff, like a bangle, so there isn't a ton of movement. A different design may need a different clasp,. Or perhaps a thicker gauge for the hook. Thanks for watching!

Enjoyed this tutorial, James! How long did you cut your two wrapping wires, please?
@dragonling4 жыл бұрын
Hello Lynn, Thank you for watching! If i remember correctly, i cut the wires approximately double the length of the bracelet. I always give myself more than i need tho.

Hi james, love this bangle, but are you sure that the wrapping wire is ONLY double the base wire(wrist measurement) It does not seem long enough when you take into account the wrapping & covering both sides of the bead! I'm itching to make it but not sure about the length & as I'm doing it in gold, I don't want to cut & find out I haven't got it long enough! Your response would be appreciated thanks. Jen in the UK

I have one of these braclettes I purchased. Mine only uses one wire to wrap the beads. Why are you useing 2 (blue and silver)? I am putting this on my "to do" list. Thank you in advance for your reply. Lisa

Where can i buy the beads your using for your project? Also that blue stone and gold wire bracelet you made i would like to know where i can get them? Your video is very enjoyable.

The blue titanium finished Agate druzy beads were purchased at the Tucson bead show and the dyed Sediment Jasper beads was a strand that we had in our owners private gallery at the time; we dont have anymore of those, but you could probably do a google search for both of those beads and find a retailer. I hope that helps, thanks for watching! ~James

Lisadaisey, I don't think James sells his work. Pretty sure he designs for himself. I will have him respond to your question. I would wear this design. It looks very fitting for an Arizona man, like myself. My wife might try to steal it though. Hehe. ~Thomas @ Soft Flex
