He's such a genuine man. Truly unique in this day and age.

God this was a great movie. Such a unique perspective on the mundane aspects of life, relationships, and hope's and dreams. The duality theme running through was perhaps my favorite concept that kept popping up.

Excited for his up and coming films, that he has a leading role in. But I feel as if 'Paterson' will always be my favorite from him.

I enjoy watching the film Paterson. The cast did a good job. I am a bit biased because I used to work in the city of Paterson. 😊

Someone should have suggested Adam that he watched the movie, it is actually quite good! :) He seems to be quite introverted.

He never really watches anything that he does, except the first episode of Girls and a private screening of The Force Awakens which he watched with Carrie Fisher and Daisy Ridley.
@tinamaria5144 жыл бұрын
VeeMarie I think the fact that he wears a mask for most of the scenes in The Force Awakens helped him to be able to watch the film. But for the most part he doesn’t watch any of his own films ever.

He may not be comfortable at Cannes. Adam seems to like simplicity himself too.

I just assume Paterson is who Adam Driver is in real life, when no one is looking. Out of all the characters he's portrayed in filming.

That was so good. The atmosphere was on the better side for him. I adore the movie so much. It instantly jumped to my No.1 and now, I finally know what to say when people ask for my wishes or dreams: "I just want a Paterson life" (though I'm more on his wife's wavelength when it comes to being a creative at home, if I'm left to. While otherwise being a lot like him. The listening and observing). So much good acting in that movie, such quiet atmosphere and beutiful light (and darkness) and indeed, expectations just falling away comfortably. A reminder that reality is - in many places - not so dramatic and that's wonderful. There's a focus on feelings that come forth in suble ways, not with lots of noise and shouting for attention. When attention is there, there's no need for that. Everything - indeed - breathes.

I think I understand what you’re feeling cos I was like, Paterson is just like me!! Loves to see people,hear people,think about who you love. And he makes poetry with such precious beautiful things out of his ordinary life. And he feels that’s enough for him. Things I make out of my life may be boring for someone else, but for me it’s beautiful and satisfying. This movie made me be confident that Life is beautiful. It’s my No.1 movie too. I watch it almost a week lately. Interviewer is right it’s almost a healing movie. Also I believe it’s because Adam Driver is so good at acting subtle feelings. I’m not good at express my opinions in English. Do I make sense?

Moma B that would be amazing and hilarious to watch 😂 Adam is like half a foot taller than Kit, and a stronger actor in my opinion. But I would still pay to watch it for sure 😍

I decided to watch one movie a day (if possible) and I did find movies i would enjoy a lot, gave it a 10/10 in my personal list :D but i am not good at giving my full attention to things i do not enjoy entirely... i will watch the movies from beginning to end, but i will play with my phone and such... only a fe movie were able to hold my full attention and this one was one of them and the more i think about it the more unbelievable it is, because nothing really happens yet it was still so intriguing that i did not do anything to miss a moment of it.. and while i think it is partly because of Adam Driver, i also found myself being very much amused and interested by the other characters... I was hesitant to watch it because, once again, i read a reddit review (these fools ugh, i always miss on the best movies for so long because of trusting tthem!! :D) but i am glad i gave it a watch and i would recommend it to anyone and everyone at any given time :)

I feel like Adam merged too much into the personage and the fact that he never watch the whole picture... it doesn’t give him the perspective of the whole work... the twins have a purpose as many other details that Paterson never noticed in order to keep a structure, the control, his routine,.... Life gave a lot of signals to Paterson for understand that there is one “other” kinda of life... in the dimension of the extraordinary...
@KxNOxUTA3 жыл бұрын
It's long ago but for the the sake of future readers: The director himself said that they arrived at the twin thing by chance due to a mom having twins there and then they made it that fun thing, since hte director, too, knows the effect of attention bringing things into your sight. You start seeing it and keep seeing it. And it was not supposed to have any further meaning than that, even though obviously, the audience is always invited to see what they want. Because that is about us and our self reflection and has nothing to do with the original intention. Paterson had a very firm grasp on the extraordinary from what I see. His perception, his routines giving way to perception, allowed him to be in hte moment and yet look at small things differently than other people look (and don't look) at them. There's more spirit in his existence then in some people striving for it. A natural inclination to be firmly attuned with life through quiet presence. It's very Zen-like.

I did! In my heart. Maybe he asked the host not to mention it? For an actor, he seems oddly shy or averse to drawing attention to himself! Like waiting for any other cast member to answer questions during panels!

If I was a set designer, makeup artist, film editor, director, lighting designer, script supervisor, etc etc, I would be a little annoyed if the star of the film refused to watch the end result just because he doesn't want to watch himself.
@kshdorii7 жыл бұрын
I don't think it's true though. I mean he always says that he doesn't watch himself but we know for a fact that he watched TFA with Daisy and Carrie for example.
@sonicboom200787 жыл бұрын
They probably completely understand why he wouldn't want to watch himself. There are many actors that hate watching themselves, and I think it's totally understandable.
@Shakabutt6 жыл бұрын
He said that it throws off his confidence, aka he notices the flaws in his performance (from his pov) and becomes obsessive about it, many actors are like this.

MJ T Sorry, I know this is a old comment but, i just wanted to add that Adam is always remarking on how the success of the films he's in is not because of him but, because of all those people that you mentioned involved. He always seems very grateful to everyone who he works with and has no illusions about his role, it being a small piece in a much larger machine. Also, the parts he likes about his job is the sense of community he gets from working with all the crew. He isn't doing it to be posh or rude. I think he genuinely believes it would damage his craft to see himself in the works he's in. I do see what you're saying about how it could be annoying though. (but poor guy wanted to throw up when watching The Force Awakens..)
@moma-b5 жыл бұрын
Filming is a team work. Everyone is responsible for their own part to do the best what they can. A designer or makeup artist should never expect any stars to watch the movie because of their work. They are payed for doing their job. The end result is for the audience.
