Great conversation. Hiatt is one of America's greatest songwriters. Underrated and should be more known. I met him after a gig in Northampton, Ma. What a gentlemen. Thanks for posting.

It's a mix re the questions and interview technique. The 'Garry US Bonds' part, for example, sparks but then at times one senses the interviewer's anxiety/star-struck aspect and him cutting off Hiatt just as he is about to say something. All I will say is one night I sat next to a singer whose work is hardly known, but I love the work and I couldn't believe the difficulty with fan-boyism that I was struggling with; that isn't me, but it was happening. Spent more time fighting myself than being able to really ask what I wanted or hear what was being said and not said. Although I am an atheist (and the older I get the more convinced I am), it pays to have some respect and to think about 'Let he who is without sin cast the first stone'. There is some good stuff, there is some fluff but I do think the interviewer was grappling with himself and trying. I think he did better than I would have. Thanks to Hiatt, the interviewer and the person who posted.

@@augustineriley5582 Camera operator pretty poor too. Even rookies usually know how to white balance the camera for pity's sake!
