Conversations with Mayor Ras J. Baraka: "Summer Activities"

Summer Fun in the City 2024 - is a vibrant series of free outdoor events that activates Newark’s public parks, recreation centers, highlight the city’s thriving cultural life, and provide Newark residents with a wide array of wholesome activities, entertainment, and opportunities for education.
Events and programming will be offered in all five wards. Residents will be able to watch free movies and theater, pack a picnic or grab a bite at a food truck, create art, celebrate reading, dance, workout, stretch, or learn about health and wellness. This initiative includes a host of activities for our youth with extended summer hours at some facilities.
This conversation highlights some of the summer programming initiatives being led by the City of Newark, as well as the Newark City Parks Foundation and Audible.
