Nice simple Video 👍Waiting for a Weiss VM48H (3kW 4000RPM spindle) to arrive so this is a good sanity check for my conversion. I cheated and got them to fit the 25mm ballscrews when they built it 😆

Hi, definitly 25 mm ballscrew will help a lot in the Z axis, in my case not posible to install 25mm for X and Y. Please let me know your accuracy results when available. Cheers

@@alfmart0000 Will do. They also have made a dedicated casting for the Z axis Ball Screw housing which I will be interested to look at when it gets here.

Hi Alfonso, It would have been great if you could share models, drawings and spesifications on how you did this in detail. Might come in handy for those who have the same machinery.

Hi RGVP, I have prepared a ZIP with the information I have , there are files in pdf and in fusion360 format, and please doble check that dimensions are suitable for your application. Here is the link: 1drv.ms/u/c/483a01a1f4f0930f/EUjgQbTJk9VNhzuu0erC0pYBPNn0OS9ffi_U7yIhPw7V1A?e=pRQBqF Don't hesitate to contact me again for any clarification, I will be very glad to answer you. Excellent - but I reckon that some backlash (at least for X and Y) is caused by the ball screw thrust bearings - the ones I purchased only had a weak wave spring to provide "zero backlash". Useless. Ended up designing new mounts with preloaded ACBs - still to make!

Thanks for your comment, probably you are right, but in my case X backlash is almost zero, and X is the axes with less axial loads. Let me know if you make new mounts with better results....

Good job , ditch those bearings and order a set with 7000 series angular contact bearing setup . About double the price but you will get rid of all your backash - well until the ballnuts wear.

Thanks for your comment, but actually I'm using a good quality angular contact bearing ( www.tuli-shop.com/syk-ball-screw-support-bearing-fk-15 ), and yes, the bearings are very very important for reducing the total backlash of the axis. Regards

@alfmart0000 , most people buy the chinese knockoffs that just use cheap deep ball bearings rather than angular contacts , looks like you have didn't fall into that trap. ;)
