sir that is a great idea I have been thinking about converting a chest freezer to a refrigerator after watching your video here I think the sliding door type chest freezer would be ideal that way people will not fan the door constantly just looking to see what's inside all day,,,all they would have to do is just walk up and look through the glass that would save a lot of energy very good idea outstanding

outstanding,,, sir you're version of this idea in general is tops,,, I love the sliding doors on top that is the best idea I have ever seen for converting a chest freezer into a refrigerator simply because people will go to the refrigerator and open it just to look to see what's inside constantly fanning the door that wastes energy,,, the chest freezer it's going to be much more efficient if you're in the space restricted area the sliding doors are going to be an excellent space saver,,, and the clear glass allows you look inside removes the need completely to fan the door open and shut ,,,you simply walk up and look in,,, again sir you are a genius that is the best conversion I have seen yet and if I can get my hands on one of those little freezers with the sliding doors,,, if they're economical enough to run I will try to convert one myself for my off grid solar setup that is very cool.

one other thing you can buy a Johnson controller on Amazon for about50_60$$$ completely plug-and-play nothing to wire up or hook up you would just simply plug the freezer into the Johnson control unit and then plug the Johnson control unit into your outlet on the wall it has a thermostat with a cable you just run cable in though a drain hole or slip in alongside the lid......

And my frend now if you would like to make it freezer just simple change the temp to low? How low -20C and the compressor will never have any problem with up and down temp changes?.thank you love you DIY

I did it like you did. I set mine at 36 degrees. It comes on at 37 degrees. But my digital display climbs to 45 degrees in two minutes. With the pump running after 37 degrees. Then in four minutes or so it falls to 35 and the pump goes off. The temp keeps falling to 30 degrees. Then in a couple minutes it is up to 37 again. Then the pump comes back on and display goes up to 45 degrees again. Then falls to 30 again. So it cycles through this exact way every 8 minutes or so with the pump running 4 minutes of that time.

I first put it in the tube where the original one was. Then I put it inside the box like you did. No change. So I put it back in the tube. Now after running for two days. It goes to 37. Pump comes on. Then it falls to 35 when pump shuts off and temp goes down to 29. Then slowly rises to 37 when it comes back on. Inside I have a thermometer and it says 38 all the time. This is okay I guess. The numbers constantly change on the display. But it takes 20 minutes to go from 29 to 37. Then only one minute of pump running to get it back down. So it is running one minute every 21 minutes.

Don't mean to be a jerk but all the work was already done with that controller. All you do is plug the freezer in to it and put the probe in some water inside the freezer then adjust the temp to what you want on the controller. I know cuz I've done 2 of those so far and it only took like 10 seconds.
