30 RPM will be difficult as you need optimum speed range to swing the cradle so 10 RPM will be best for it.

Hi, Did not understand the reason behind the second MDF piece mentioned at kzbin.info/www/bejne/rqS2d2hjdteAnrM . Could not figure out how this is preferable against a straight one? It is attached with one screw which would not remain intact after some usage - is this needed to be free of fixed at 90 degrees permanently? Could you please share more details or links to know about this? I am in process of building a similar solution and your input greatly helps.

Thank you for your Question!! Purpose of making this at 90 angle is increase centrifugal force and reduce tension to MDF piece later on I have replaced this piece with PVC plastic piece to improve it. You can make it straight but you need to use steel rod and high torque motor for the same.

Thanks a lot for the response. I made one with 30RPM Johnson motor fixed with a 4*10cm wheel. Radius increased by fixing an L clamp to wheel and further extending it with a vertically cut section of PVC pipe. It kind of works, but motor is not fixed in a stable way and jerks at positions of high torque causing jerks in the cradle. Need to work on the jerks in order to have a smooth operation. May be I'll try the 90 degree approach too.
