I know that man didn’t just call a multi-meter “this machine.” 😑 “shoots electricity through it until it finds the wire it needs” LMFAO For anyone who wants to know how to say it with some merit, He is using the Multimeter to test for continuity. A continuous connection will be made whenever both leads of the meter touch the same wire at opposite ends.

hah, i think the cap would help, but it's just the nature of electronics, they almost always still work if you leave out some passive components, but i think if you try it with a cap your video will have less color/blurring problems

Great tip. I wonder if it can be reversed ? Meaning, RCA-->S-Video . As I see a capacitor in your diagram , I would say no :( I've got an old Video Cam that has RCA output and I need to convert it to S-video to use as input to my Canopus ADVC50 board. I used a converter cable I had here but it didn't work, so I guess the reason might be it's unidirectional.

I thought S-Video stands for Separate Video, meaning Luma and Chroma (CoLour and Brightness) surely it compliments each other. Chucking it into a RCA socket would surely need abit more than just a Capacitor. Or is that all.???

I know this is old but I had to laugh, you probably know a lot more than the guy who made the video! BTW, there is no "Negitive" wire in this cable! That shows he doesn't have a clue. There are two sheild wires and two signal wires (which are Luma and Chroma! Good job!

Hi. I want to connect my Pioneer LD player CLD-D925 (S-Video female connector + audio output) to my 3DTV Samsung UE75H6400 component input to improve quality. Can't find any cable for it. Who knows how to make and solder this cable ? I have got anything necessary to do it but can't find the diagram.
@DinkyDoughnut Жыл бұрын
I believe if I remember there’s no audio in S-Video connector. So that’s have to be worked out separately. The input to the 3Dtv Samsung I am not sure about. May have a differing architecture to the signal stage for inputs. As times have moved on and we are getting onto Higher Definition signalling, which keeps getting higher. If you can get a signal processor that output to a Screen that’ll take a Composite or compatible signal then a a way forward. There must be a Chinese firm that can assist with an adapter. I am not quite familiar unless I know the input connection of the Samsung. I am sure it possible and the screen will have no problem dealing with the lower definition. Get back to me if you have no luck, I might have more info at hand from my service dept.

Dude, typically when someone goes on KZbin to offer a "How to" video they know what they are doing. There is no such thing as a negative wire in these cables. There are Signal wires and shield wires and to call them positive and negative implies voltage is present and could lead someone to damage equipment if not get themselves hurt! I suggest you stick to something you truly know about as it dang sure aint this! By the way thats Pico Farid on the capacitors! Come on dude!

DUDE ALL THE SIGNALS ARE ELECTRIC. VOLTAGE IS HOW THIS WORKS. THE CABLE I MADE WORKED GOOD FOOR ME.
