.stl has no units. You'll need to configure the default template (Tools > Application Options > Configure Default Template...) to have the same units the designer used.

when I convert my model I only get a wire frame of all yellow lines... Can anyone help ?

Right-click on the completed mesh and deselect "translucent".

I have the same problem, but the yellow lines won't go away, and it still isn't a solid object. How can I get it to be a workable solid like on I would make from scratch?

Does not work with inventor 2018 same problem when clicking solid yellow cube. Still makes it a composite.
