All of these options seem very time-consuming, considering if you come to Canada and the border patrol officer only gives you a short period of time, you may not have the time to complete these steps for a work or study permit

Yes, I had time to convert my visitor visa to work permit in 1 day by flagpoling. I came to Canada in 2019. Work permit for picking mushroom in Abbotsford,BC. My kid went to school for free. I lived on the farm , where I work ,for $200/month.

It’s very difficult to get a job offer while you are on visitor status. I also tried converting visitor to study permit but got refused. My agent didn’t not mentioned me of prerequisite program and i did IELTS and had an offer letter from college but when i applied from with in Canada it got refused. I applied for an extension now. It really had wasted my time and patience. Can you please help?

why IELTS is not mandatory? As on official canadian website.. it has been clearly written as if you want to convert visitor to study you need to apply as outside canada even though you are physically present.. which means unless you are a family member of a canadian resident you need to fulfill every condition of a study permit.. which includes IELTS.. can anyone explain if I am wrong..

Ielts is not mandatory by IRCC. Also, you go for exemptions when applying for SP inside Canada.
