They look great. An alternative source for the scale is the adrax agatone kit, probably cheaper than the dark elves kit and easier to find I expect. The chain makes a nice difference. As I make jewellery with such chain I've loads of different types and jump rings for attaching things to the chain (circular pieces of wire that hold together by tension when used for jewellery to link beads and charms to chain etc.

Awesome tutorial and I will check out anything else you have on the Salamanders; painting, kit-bashing etc.

Great video 👍 im new to the hobby and I'm a bit confused about something, could I take the flamer and hand piece from the sternguard veteran and put it on the body of a regular space marine to make a salamander flamer unit? It would be possible but I'm not sure wether or not it's breaking the rules of the game.
@theminiaturemen40k3 жыл бұрын
Don’t worry about being confused the space marines have so many units. As of now intercessors or assault intercessor sergeants can have a hand flamer. The only dedicated flamer units we have a flamestorm aggressors.

@@theminiaturemen40k so not many flamer options for salamander armies?

@@theminiaturemen40k but could I put other flame guns on regular marines without breaking the rules?
@theminiaturemen40k3 жыл бұрын
There are not a ton at the moment with the primaris line. I know you can add some flamers to the firstborn marines but I’m not positive on how many

I know this is an older video, but any chance you guys could share how you did the shoulder pad scales? Did you trim those down from one of the tabards?
@theminiaturemen40k Жыл бұрын
Yup, same process I just make the molds really thin so that they are even more flexible then I just cut them to shape. It took a few tries to get it exactly how I wanted it. My advice would be cut small many times vs cutting off large chunks when shaping it

@@theminiaturemen40k Thank you! Any chance you remember where you get all the large teeth that you add to the chain?
@theminiaturemen40k Жыл бұрын
I don’t recal but I commonly scan eBay for ork and space wolf bits as they have teeth and claws a lot, also if you can find the old FW shoulder pads for salamanders they have good bits you can make copies of

How you make the shoulder leather for the sarge?
@theminiaturemen40k20 күн бұрын
It’s actually a recast of an old FW kit, you can sometimes find them laying around on eBay, you could also use the same method as the tabard and cut them into shape

Are the salamanders starter friendly?
@theminiaturemen40k Жыл бұрын
Painting wise they are not bad. Most people just struggle to find the exact shade of green they want other than that they are pretty straight forward. Game wise they are also pretty simple to run
