Let me know what you all think of the homegrown. I took it for a proper ride today and it pleasantly surprised me

Rode my 90's winter bike with a singulator to work two nights ago. I turned this Gary Fisher into single speed with studded tires for winter time. I like the Gold bike. My Homegrown is plain jane Red.

I would think a single speed would be the way to go for riding in the cold. Studded tires and a single speed sounds like an awesome way to commute!

I got the same gear ratio on my single speed converted 29er! 36/16 but, I managed to make my bike a true single speed! No chain tensioner!😅 And I also have a spare narrow wide chainring, which I sometimes change on my bike, when I want a slightly higher gear ratio,on that same bike! 34/14 and also I managed to make it a true single speed! They said it can't be done, but I did it! Granted, my frame is a quick release, with the vertical dropouts (which should make conversation even harder) maybe slightly harder than with the thrue axle frames! Sorry for my English,I hope that what I wrote, makes sense.😅 Anyway, great video, and greetings from the everyday bicycle abuser from Croatia 😎

Check out Paul Comp Monolite brakes. You can run 650b or 700c with those calipers.

Very cool... Have u ever considered looking into BH bike line.. Especially their Lynx Carbon race xc line? Sick bikes man.

I'm familiar with BH but I haven't checked into them recently. I think they were one of the first to do an integrated seatpost. I'll look up their mtbs!

Cool build, looks like fun. How do you feel about oval rings?

Thanks man! I've played around with them once. Some people swear by them but I wouldn't say I noticed a big difference. But take that with a grain of salt since I didn't ride it for long🤷

Cool project man! Are you familiar with Oldshovel's youtube channel? He's big on restoring old bikes and I've seen him modernize some where he built disc brake mounts on a steel frame for instance (Father-Son Restoration Bike Build - 98 VooDoo Wanga). I understand yours isnt steel, but it might be worth shooting him a message about your situation with the adaptor. Best from Norway!

Thanks for suggesting their channel! I wasn't familiar with them but I love watching restoration/mods and they seem to do good work.
