Thank you very much for your patient guidance! This is the best explanation I could find on the topic. One day using a new Samsung Chromebook 4 Bluebird said goodbye to ChromeOS without any regrets or tears. It didn't work to disconnect and reconnect the battery: I had to do everything using just the charger. A good-looking laptop now matches with the Linux. From now on I'm a fan of the channel.

3:49 If I can make a small suggestion: I'd use some color to indicate a space in the command. It's easy to miss a space (especially when looking at a font that's not monospaced), but not as easy to miss a green block between two words. If for some reason there is more than one space, you can indicate that with alternating colors, eg 3 spaces next to each other = a green, yellow, and another green block next to each other (or any other color you like). Thanks for the amazing content, I love watching your informative and well-made videos! Have a nice weekend. Attila

Wow, your video is so short and straight forward! I was thinking of getting Chromebook because you can get them for very small price, they are lightweight and most of them also have touchscreen. Was first thinking of upgrading it to Windows (which I found out was very bad decision) and then I found out that Linux runs very good on Chromebooks. Can i install wordpress on lenovo chromebook
@TechsavvyProductions2 жыл бұрын
Great question, I would check Chrome's Web store. You are limited to Android or Chrome's Web store for apps.

Do these steps work for other Chromebooks or is this for the N42 only?
@TechsavvyProductions2 жыл бұрын
Great question, I demonstrated the N42 but in the video notes I share a wide variety of other brands and models that this can be done for. The steps for other Chromebooks are very similar. You might have to remove a write protect screw for your device but there are lots of step by step instructions on the internet.

I'd do it for the fun of it. but a Celeron N3060 has a aweful passmark rating of 658. Laptops have had double that passmark score since 2008

Thank you for your support, most Chromebooks are not known for their speed, but once you get to the end of your support life of Chrome going to a light Linux allow the laptop usefulness to continue for a long time.

It just looks stupid that there is no Win (meta, super, or whatever) key and they have the two comically-wide Ctrl and Alt keys. Win key is a must even for Linux desktop, so the lack of the Win key, it would be very inconvenient to use it as a Linux laptop.

Hey thanks for the info. But my dell 13 lulu freezes on windows 10 and Linux mint 21 cinnamon, on 100% charge it freezes until hard restart, on boot sometimes it shows kernel error and sometimes touch stops working on restart. What should i do?

Had to get to VT2 to run sudo command! Ran all the commands, it startrd loading, finally it stopped and in red stated "this is 64 bit program, your device is 32 bit!" Powerwashed, tried to find a 32 bit support, looks bleak, oh well! Did load a version of Ubunto by using the "linux" mode in settings, it worked, rather slowly, all done ! Powerwashed, hardware too weak! Was great when it was supported. Bought wife a Acer 515 plus, she loves it!

after installing the bios on chromebook , May I ask how to set a "Bios" password on a chromebook ?
@TechsavvyProductions Жыл бұрын
It should be under security, but I gave my 'chromebook" now Linuxbook to my son and do not have access to "coreboot" the UEFI firmware. Lots of developer documentation but struggle to find an answer for you.

Fun Fact: Chromebook is a Linux computer. You can literally install croutoun using developer mode to imitate the exact same feeling, BUT you also get to keep ChromeOS. I dont see the point in switching. IF YOU DONT WANT TO LOSE YOUR DATA, Then just use Wine's virtual computer. Easy.
