Definitely gave me some insights to think about before I start my own racks. Thank you for sharing; glad your snakes survived!

Great video. Question, I’m in the process of building a rack system and I was going with belly heat. I have recessed the heat tape on the shelves. Is this not a good idea? Also bought the VE-100. Wish this video was 2 weeks earlier 😂

100 will work okay for belly heat. I wouldn’t use it for an incubator. Dimmable Thermostats (VE-200s) are great for any setup! Belly heat is good as long as it is Wired correctly & the tubs aren’t rubbing against it! Make sure you take probe temps from the tape, not the enclosure 👍🏼👍🏼

PAC Pythons thanks. I appreciate the advice. I’ve cut a grove in the pvc shelves to recess the heat tape so they don’t rub. I’ll go the other route when I start the incubator and get the 200. Again I appreciate the knowledge.

In my experience adult ball pythons really need belly heat to properly digest their meals, I understand your concerns about potentially cooking your snakes but if you set your probes up properly that shouldn't be an issue at all. All of my racks are custom racks I built and all have belly heat, I just make sure to check my temps at least 3 times a day on every rack and make adjustments if needed. Hope the new setup works out for you.
