I have the same issue the yellow port is broken and came out of the wire connection but I am not good in fixing this way. Any easy alternatives are available to charge the laptop?

According to the thinkwiki, the slim tip connector in my lenovo legion y540 (which charges from a 230w charger) needs a resistor of 4.6kohm. Will it work with this usb port? or just at lower charge rate? and what if the laptop draws more power than the type c charging brick can provide?

it won't work with type c since it can provide a max of 100w
