I am so confused with the cartesian equations. Why does it exist in the first place? Is it just to make me suffer!!!
@possiblyunmatched1323
@possiblyunmatched1323 3 жыл бұрын
i think its just the convention. we usually deal with x and y terms so removing any unfamiliar variables allows us to deal with less parameters. so rather than dealing with x,y and t, we only have x and y.

How do you approach an trigonometrical equation with two parameters? (t and s)

WTF do we do if our HW problems are a billion times more complex than this? If anyone can help me solve something like: x=cos(5t) , y=sin(2t) and get a Cartesian Equation out of it I would be EXTREMELY grateful!

@user-dj9iu2et3r 3 жыл бұрын
@@Tryinglittleleg nah man. I looked the problem up elsewhere and they said to just plug in numbers to get the graph. The specific problem I was doing didn't ask for the equation itself. I just wanted to know if I was doing something wrong.

try using double angles for y=sin2t (y=2 sint cost), not sure about cos5t though sorry

@user-dj9iu2et3r 3 жыл бұрын
@@chloelau7317 yea the double angle is obvious to me but how on earth do you handle cos5t in trying to change this to a cartesian equation ?
