Converting your Optimus Polaris to use Propane

With the purchase of a $10-$20 adapter you can convert your Optimus Polaris to use a 1lb propane can. A slight mortification that requires a 1/8" drill bit and a drill you can make your camp stove truly multifuel.

Great review. I found an adapter that did not need drilling and worked fine on my Polaris. Just look for one that is EN417 Lindal valve compatible.

I wonder if this adaptor will allow you to use Mapp gas (or any other similar gaseous fuel source?)

mapp gas burns pretty hot. Might want to be careful with that stuff

@@ryanmalin yeah that’s true. I am mainly just thinking about expanding the fuels you could possibly use.

The adapter should work but but fuels used for camp gas are typically lower heat and not as explosive. I would be extra cautious.

Is it just as safe to use with an MSR Whisperlite Universal? It is sold as isobutane compatible (with the right jet adapter) like the Polaris
