Conway Community Center & Soccer Complex Presentation

The City of Conway has called a special election for the Conway Community Center and the Conway Soccer Complex.
Election Day will be held Tuesay, February 8 at the McGee Center and Don Owen Sports Center. Early voting will be held February 1 through February 7 at the Faulkner County Courthouse.

This is so beautiful and I hope Conway gets it. I moved Tucson, Arizona from Conway last year and Conway deserves to have the same sort of things big cities like Tucson have. Honestly, this looks nicer and bigger than anything I think we even have here too! I'm so excited for y'all and I really hope my hometown can pass this.

I am so excited about the indoor/outdoor pools! The airplane/airport theme I hope is not solidified. I get it is at the old airport, but doesn’t represent Conway at all. Some of the artists from downtown murals or interior design students from UCA would probably have some better ideas to bring the interior to life!

The former Acxiom Infobase Center, my mom worked there when it first opened, before she was laid off. The entire airport should have been converted to multi use a public park, instead of the ever unfinished apartments that only enrich private interests.

The sole purpose of this community center is to enrich private interests, to enrich capital, to serve as a playground of capitalist subjectivity. They prioritized a dozen soccer fields over growing food. This should be a clear sign that the community center is not a space for humans, it isn't meant for humans, it isn't for us. It's for capital.

The City of Conway will offer different options for usage including annual membership and daily use fee. The City’s goal is to make the center affordable to all; by offering a multitude of programs at the center. Partnerships with our local nonprofits will be key to ensuring that the community center is a place for all.

Conway Community Center will be located in Central Landing off of Sixth Street. Conway Soccer Complex will be located on Museum Road north of Curtis Walker Park.
