Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man is another phenomenal duet with the two of them. Loretta's got some great solo songs that hit upon the plight of being a woman back in the day -- if ya done it yet (and I don't think you have) One's on the Way is good one; I also suggest The Pill (which was banned from the airwaves, afaik) and Your Squaw is on the Warpath (given her own heritage this one shouldn't be controversial, imo)

I didn't realize this when i was young and these 2 were singing all those duets, but there were not too many men who had strong enough voices to not get drowned out by Loretta. Her voice was commanding, his was too, and together they were amazing.

I loved your reaction to this it is always been hilarious song. And take my word for it as a kid sitting in the backseat when the parent turned it up we spent most of our time laughing because we didn't hear our parents talk to each other like that.

Too cute! I have never heard this song. My Mom was a big Conway fan and I loved Loretta (but I am a bigger fan of her sister, Crystal Gayle. I have ALL of Crystal's music). Maybe you could add "Don't it Make my Brown Eyes Blue" to the list? Please?

Love this song!! And yes, my Dad used to turn it up and sing it while looking right at my brother and I 😂. Conway and Loretta made a great duo and even had a whole album together. “Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man” is a great one and “As Soon As I Hang Up The Phone” is a very interesting song with a very different approach but still turned out great! Great reaction, as always guys!! And thank y’all (Dustin lol) for all the hard work of keeping up with all our wild requests!

You mean as soon as I hang up the phone... Yes they had a lot of great songs together. Weirdly though several of their songs have to do with cheating on their partners with each other. I've always heard they never cheated with each other, and I don't believe they did... But there was a rumor going around that they did. You never know what happens behind closed doors. But I don't think they did because Loretta always wrote songs about Doo cheating on her and how much it hurt her so I don't think she would actually do that. 🤷 But they were great Duo partners. ❤

@@wandadavis2124 Great catch and Thank you so much for that!! Yeah, I’ve heard the rumors but never really bought into them. You never heard of any other cheating scandals involving either of them so I always thought it was just a marketing scheme. Either way they made a great duo! And you’re right, I don’t see Loretta cheating after everything she went through with her husband. Just listen to her songs like “Fist City” “You Ain’t Woman Enough To Take My Man” “The Pill” and the list goes on. I don’t think she thought of those as just songs that the listeners might enjoy, but more of a warning to any and all who might want to test her lol

I needed a laugh this morning! I don't think I had heard this song before, but as I was listening to it I couldn't help but think of another duet where the singers are roasting each other. "In Spite of Ourselves" by John Prine and Iris Dement. After listening to Conway and Loretta's song, I think I like it better! I love that all through the verses they are roasting each other, but in the chorus the kids are the ones catching strays!

If you want more Loretta, then I highly, HIGHLY recommend the duet she did with Willie Nelson back in 2016 called "Lay Me Down". I will warn you though, you will be able to hear the age in her voice as it isn't quite as strong, but it's still a fantastic song.

Y'all should listen to "I still believe in waltzes", by Conway and Loretta.. My Mom and Dad loved that song. You should also check out George Jones and Tammy Wynette's song "Something to Brag About" another song my Mom and Dad loved. Thanks for playing this song, I have requested it a lot. ❤ 😂

my father called me fatboy my entire childhood and my mother said i was the curse her mother cast on her to have a child that acted like her. we are GEN X we were treated like dirt, and we had to shut up and take it.
