Conway did a great job of covering this Gene Watson song.It takes a great amount of confidence to follow Gene on a song and Conway did a fantastic job. I had the pleasure of knowing and even singing with him some back in the late 60's when he worked out of OKC. He was part owner of a radio station I was program director of ,in Fayetteville , Arkansas.... KFAY. Not only was Conway a great singer, but a wonderful person to be around. Success never went to his head.On the street, or on the golf green, he was just another guy in a pair of jeans and T shirt. Truly one of the best talents of my generation.

I had always thought that Darryle Singletary was but upon researching it wasn't just those 2 who had sung it / it also was done by Doug Supernaw as well but need LESS to say WHOEVER sings it / it's by far one of the best songs ever because if you have had a break-up with someone then you know how it feels and those "Dear John" letters aren't to re-freshing they drain you of all you had then you have to re-build but once AGAIN an AWESOME SONG!!!
