I think..this advertisement is very badly explained. Normally separator cooking needs 1st one whistle on high flame then 10 min on lower to medium flame. If cooker whistles too frequently, u can slow the flame little. Before cooking rice and dal should be soaked atleast for 30 mins for better result. Unfortunately our cook in this ad didnt mentioned. Just pathetic and misleading advertisement. Prestige Social should consider it and modify the ad as per methods otherwise it is misleading.

Can I cook daal directly in prestige popular 3 litre pressure cooker ?

Sure...u can do it. Pls remember dont fill the cooker beyond its half capacity.....i.e. 1.3 ltr.... Why not 1.5 ltr....as because 3 ltr outer lud cooker cooking capacity is 2.6 ltr....rest 0.4 ltr goes to the lid...... After adding dal and water...add salt and turmeric and 3 to 4 drops of oil to check frothing. Then close cooker and keep on medium heat....remember do not put on high heat as this may result very high frothing from whistle.. After one whistle......lower the flame as much as possible... Then count time.... For masoor dal and moong dal ...1 min... For arhar and tuar dal 3 min For chana dal.....5 min.... Then switched off the gas.. Allow the cooker to cool naturally....then open...
