Ackee is native to Africa and was brought to the Caribbean by the Europeans who wrongfully enslaved African people. However, Jamaicas National dish of Ackee and Saltfish is a very Jamaican dish. This dish was invented in Jamaica. Also, the Europeans brought saltfish to the Caribbean.
