Salam Sabeen, Masha Allah, your all videos are very informative. I am from Canada also. The technique for cake you can use is parchment paper in side the mold. Fold paper in 4 and cut it umbrella shape. That will cover ends and easier to remove. Hope it's helpful 😊.

You can line the parchment paper by placing it inside and let it touch the walls of the mould instead of placing the mould onto the flat parchment paper. This can prevent leakage of batter from the sides.
