Hi, I am facing problem with royal icing. My icing will deflate when I painting with gel colouring on it after icing dried. I could not find out the root cause.

May I ask; I noticed, at the beginning, you didn't outline the cookie and fill it in, but rather made a huge circle of icing and spread it out to the edges. My question was, is there a difference or a benefit to doing it the way you did, rather than the usually outline and fill? I'm not trying to sound rude or anything, I'm genuinely curious. The cookie is beautiful either way, I merely wanted to ask, as I'm starting to try icing cookies with Royal Icing (just for home & school) and I'm trying to take in all the information of doing so. Thank you.
