@@angelredbottom6837 ....I think they were referring to her food stamps EBT card... recertification is every 6 months it used to be once a year so her food stamps would've kept loading on her set date every month until she missed a recertification....the stamps is different from the money...sometimes your mental health social worker may not know your locked up right away & when they find out then they have to report it to welfare...my uncle is like this & his mental health social worker would not know when he was locked up ....we would have to call her to tell her so she can go to court with him to help him....the case managers/social workers have to notify the welfare that they are locked up...n the case of money/disability/socsec checks the jail prison will notify the government that the person is a innate & yes u are correct ...the funds/money will stop but food stamps will go on the card on your date every month until you miss recertification or someone calls & tells that you are locked up

@@angelredbottom6837 ...I work in law enforcement...I am a correction officer for Cuyahoga County Sherriffs Dept & I have worked n the probation department during my internship before becoming a correction officer...my uncle stamps used to keep loading 197.00 every month until he missed that recert...he used to be locked up about 3 or 4 months & he would be trying to sell his stamps when he got out...I thought somebody said she Cookie had all them stamps...I wasn't speaking about the money...u are correct about the money but if nobody reports they are locked up to welfare the stamps will load sweetie...the jail don't report to welfare to stop stamps...the jail will notify socsec & dissability that they have you.... sometimes even probation officers would not know someone is locked up until the person calls the probation officer himself from in the jail...at the end of the day the checks are stopped because someone reported this person locked up & this is not always done asap....socsec & dissability don't call the jails ..the jail notifys them that u are an inmate ...yes it is policy but not for food stamps & the comment I was replying to was about her having a lot of stamps one time when she got out....food stamps are non taxable ...they are not calling welfare to stop stamps but they did stop my uncle's SSI checks when he was locked up but that ebt card had 3 or 4months worth of stamps on it when he got out...welfare where he got only stamps from never knew he was locked up ...his money from ssi was stopped because the jail/prison policy is to notify the government that u are locked up & sometimes that's not asap neither....food stamps will not be stopped unless welfare is notified specifically by the person's case manager or psychiatrist that the person is locked up or that person miss the recertification....jails/prisons do not take the time to call welfare to stop a person's stamps ....they only stop all checks/money... nobody really care about the stamps like that & they will load on your card while u are locked up ... yes..I have seen it many times...welfare does not know u are locked up until someone reports it to them...
